Jadeveon Clowney Announces Live He Is Down to South Carolina, Alabama & Clemson
2011 college football National Signing Day is in full swing, with questions rising about the destination for No. 1 prospect Jadeveon Clowney.
Clowney is ranked as the best prospect in the nation by the top recruiting sites in the country.
Listed at 6'6", 240 pounds, Clowney has amazing athleticism for a defensive end and puts fear into the minds of opposing quarterbacks.
In the past month, both Alabama and South Carolina seemed to create a two-team race for his services.
The Crimson Tide are in need of a great pass rusher, as the team was down in sacks and tackles for loss this season.
There is also plenty of confidence that Clowney will stay in his home state. South Carolina has put together quite an impressive recruiting class, expanding not only down South but in parts of the Northeast as well.
Today on ESPNU, Clowney announced the final three schools he is considering: Alabama, South Carolina and Clemson.
This is one of the bigger surprises of the day on National Signing Day. Clemson seemed like an afterthought and wasn't expected to have any consideration of being in the top three.
However, Clowney says he visited Clemson over the weekend and will be considering the Tigers. Clemson has put up quite an impressive recruiting class thus far, which could go a long way in snagging this top recruit.
According to Clowney, he will be making a decision on February 14th, which is not only Valentine's Day but his birthday as well.
Whose heart will he be breaking in two weeks' time? Will he stun Alabama and South Carolina for Clemson? Or will he be poised to join the dominant conference of the SEC?
