National Signing Day 2011: Jacoby Brissett and The Top 10 Unsigned Prospects

Sal DeRoseJun 6, 2018

As the day gets shorter on National Signing Day 2011, so does the list of available (and good) prospects.

Jacoby Brissett is one of those names that will be brought up a lot as he is one of the top remaining quarterbacks on the board.

Numerous prospects still remain for the top-tier teams, but the question raised is, who remains?

Jacoby Brissett, Quarterback

1 of 11

The aforementioned Jacoby Brissett is definitely one of the top prospects remaining. The dual-threat quarterback from West Palm Beach, Florida is considering four schools.

Brissett has his eyes set high though. He is heavily considering the University of Miami and Wisconsin, with Florida and UNC trailing behind those two schools.

Brissett is a big kid. He's 6'5" and 225 lbs with a 40-time of 4.5 seconds.

He can run and he can pass. His decision-making is pretty good and can add zip to the ball.

As you can tell by his 40-time, he has great mobility out of the pocket and his size makes him a tough tackle.

Jadeveon Clowney, Defensive End

2 of 11

You can't do this list and not mention the top player in this year's class. He's the No. 1 overall in each ranking.

Clowney is 6'6", 247 lbs with a 4.6 40-time. Clowney is coming out of Rock Hill, South Carolina with numerous teams interested.

So far Clowney has it down to six schools: Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, North Carolina and his in-state school, South Carolina.

Obviously the addition of Clowney to any team is big—who wouldn't want a 5-star DE on their team?

He has all the makings of an all-around success. He has the speed, strength and athleticism to succeed at the next level.  He has a lot of hype surrounding him too.

Rivals has compared Clowney to Texans defensive lineman (and former NC State player) Mario Williams, who was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Whatever team adds him, they sure have a top defensive player for years to come.

Curtis Grant, Linebacker

3 of 11

Another great defensive prospect, Curtis Grant was the leading tackler for the East side in the 2011 Army All-American Bowl.

Right now he is considering four schools: Florida, North Carolina, Ohio State and Virginia.

Like Clowney, the 6'2", 222-pound linebacker is drawing heavy comparisons—except his is a lot bigger.

Rivals compares Grant to Ravens linebacker (and former Miami star) Ray Lewis. If being compared to a future Hall-of-Famer isn't a lot of hype, I don't know what is.

His size for inside linebacker is great. He has good speed and mobility, he just needs to work a little on his pass defense.

Cyrus Kouandjio, Offensive Lineman

4 of 11

This is the best offensive tackle—and offensive lineman—coming out of this year's class.

He has great size for an offensive lineman standing in at 6'7" and 322 lbs.

The offensive tackle from Hyattsville, Maryland is heavily considering in-state rivals Alabama and Auburn. USC, Miami and New Mexico also are in the running for the 5-star tackle.

He has great footwork and strength to help on the line. He is used to being a run blocker, but only in his senior year did he become more of a pass blocker, so it will be interesting to see how he progresses in the area.

Isaiah Crowell, Running Back

5 of 11

The running back from Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia is the fourth-ranked running back coming out of this year's class.

He possess everything needed to be an every down back. It's come down to Alabama and Georgia, followed by UNC, Clemson and Tennessee.

Isaiah has good speed, agility and strength to make it at the collegiate level, he just needs to work on his balance to avoid the always tough ankle tackles.

Marqise Lee, Athlete

6 of 11

Lee could go either way. He possess the skills and ability to be a a solid defensive player, but he apears destined for the offensive side of the ball.

The 6'1", 187-pound athlete is coming out of Gardena, California and is considering Cal, Oregon and USC.

He's a little small when it comes to build and will need to add more muscle to help shed tacklers. He has fantastic lateral movement and, given any sort of space, will make you pay.

Gabe Wright, Defensive Tackle

7 of 11

Gabe Wright has good size for a defensive tackle at 6'3" and 273 lbs.

Wright is coming out of the same school as running back Crowell and is strongly considering Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Tennessee.

He needs work on getting past offensive lineman, and there have been concerns he is putting on too much weight.

He has good speed though and can help chase down runners from behind.

Jermauria Rasco, Defensive End

8 of 11

Rasco helped lead his defense and team to a Louisiana state championship this past season.

He's a 6'3" 227-pound weakside DE and is considering LSU, Florida State, Florida, Arkansas and Alabama—all traditional football powers.

He has good size and build. He can be a very disruptive presence on defense.

Devin Lucien, Wide Receiver

9 of 11

Devin Lucien is a solid target and get at wide receiver. He's a 4-star wide receiver coming out of Encino California and is 6'1" at 189 lbs.

UCLA, Arizona State, Colorado, Kentucky and Miami are among the schools he's considering.

He can hurt you from anywhere on the field. Whether it be short, intermediate or a deep pass, he is dangerous.

He's also very well built for a wide receiver and pretty quick too.

Junior Pomee, Wide Receiver

10 of 11

Junior Pomee is interesting because he has the size to play tight end at the next level—or he could be one big wide receiver.

Pomee is a 6'3", 230 lbs and has a 4.6 40-time.

He possess very long arms and has huge strong hands. He is deciding between two schools: his home-state USC Trojans, or moving out to play for the Utah Utes.

Just look at him though. He has hair like Troy Polamalu.

Michael Thomas, Wide Receiver

11 of 11

One more wide receiver to round out this list.

Michael Thomas is considering Oregon State, Colorado, Wyoming and Colorado State.

Thomas is 6'2", 180 lbs and is a tall, productive wide receiver coming out of Woodland Hills, California.

He has good body control and has the size and athleticism needed to play major college football. He will be a force for whichever school he signs with, but is lacking in the speed department a bit.
