For USC, Dawson brings in the perfect size for a linebacker to play for the Monte Kiffin’s defense as the program tries to bounce back from a rare down year due to NCAA sanctions.
In addition to his imposing size, Dawson has the speed and agility to play with the new wave of scat backs that have invaded the back fields of college football teams, as his pursuit ability is great when running laterally on the field.
But with those great intangibles, Dawson will need to take some time to work on his tackling ability so he doesn’t overrun a ball carrier, letting them break for a big run.
