WWE Royal Rumble:
Yo, yo, yo. We’re just about four hours away from the 2011 Royal Rumble, so I decided to offer my quick thoughts on the matches.
Simple enough, right? Enjoy.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
By the way, I’ll be covering the match live here at Bleacher Report, so be sure to follow it here if you won’t be watching on PPV.
Divas Championship: Natalya (c) vs. LayCool in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match
I think this is where we’ll see the start of some friction between the members of LayCool.
Layla will go for the pinfall after hitting her finisher, but Michelle will pull her off. The two will start arguing with each other, and Natalya will take advantage to get the win.
It’s way too early to take the belt off of her, and I’d expect the WWE to build toward Natalya/Beth or Natalya/Kong at Wrestlemania.
Oh yeah, did I mention that Awesome Kong will debut at some point tonight? Yeah, she will. Bank on it.
World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
This feud’s been surprisingly boring for me. Maybe because Dolph’s pretty bad on the mic. I don’t know.
Anyway, the WWE isn’t going into Wrestlemania with the belts on both The Miz and Ziggler.
I’d expect Edge to retain here, without hitting the spear, of course.
Though I’m a Ziggler fan, he just isn’t ready to main event the biggest show of the year. Keeping the strap on Edge is the smart decision.
WWE Champion: The Miz (c) vs. Randy Orton
Why do this match instead of The Miz vs. John Morrison? Ya got me.
Even though this Orton/Miz feud hasn’t been going on that long, I feel like it’s been shoved down my throat. These two just don’t click for some reason, though I’m not sure why.
Regardless, the WWE has been teasing Miz vs. John Cena at Wrestlemania (and that’s the match the company reportedly wants to do), so Miz should get the win in this match.
Will he win clean? Hell no. This is Randy Orton we’re talking about here.
But Miz will win one way or another, and Orton will probably show up in the Rumble match later in the show.
The (“Biggest Ever!”) 40-Man Royal Rumble Match
There are 40 men in this match for the first time in WWE history. But how many really matter? Maybe four.
We will see the returns of both Kevin Nash and Booker T, and possibly Christian (who’s backstage), Triple H and Evan Bourne. But none of those guys are winning the whole thing.
This will come down to four men: Cena, Punk, Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio.
I have this sickening—yes, sickening—feeling in my stomach that Cena will win the match, but I’m hoping the WWE isn’t that predictable.
I mean, come on. That’s a little ridiculous.
If the WWE has a set of gonads, they’ll give the win to Del Rio here. He’s been phenomenal since debuting in the company over the summer, he gets a ton of heat and he’s a fresh face.
Plus, if you really think about it, who else is Edge gonna face at Wrestlemania?
Christian? I wish. Ziggler? The feud won’t go that long. Kane? Haha. Cody Rhodes? No way.
Let ADR shine in this match. And win. It’s his destiny.
Alright, that’ll do it for my Royal Rumble preview. Short and sweet. Another reminder: Come back to B/R for my coverage of the PPV tonight.
And don’t forget to come to The Wrestling Hangover for anything and everything about the WWE.
What a fitting title, huh? Considering many of you who are reading this are probably hungover yourselves.
Wait... I am, too. Later!
