
National Signing Day 2011: Where Are The Top 25 Wide Receivers Headed?
National Signing Day 2011 is fast approaching and the college football world wants to know where the top-ranked recruits will be going.
While much of the focus heading into National Signing Day remainins on Jadeveon Clowney, Ray Drew, Tony Steward, Curtis Grant, and some of the nation's top defensive recruits, there are a host of players on the offensive side of the ball that will surely make an immediate impact on the field next season.
Many of those players will be at the wide receiver position, where the momentum of a game can change on one deep burn or a broken tackle on a short pass.
As the final days get crossed off the 2011 college football recruiting calendar, here is a breakdown of where the top 25 wide receivers are headed:
25. Miles Shuler
1 of 25
Commitment: Rutgers
Shuler played quarterback in high school, but he has the athleticism to succeed more at the wide receiver position at the next level.
He'll likely see immediate time in the slot for the Scarlet Knights.
24. A.J. Jordan
2 of 25
Commitment: Wisconsin
Jordan is one of Ohio's top prospects, which seems odd as he's heading to the Badgers.
A 4-star recruit, Jordan is explosive off the line of scrimmage and makes up for a lack of size with momentum and the ability to take a hit a keep on churning.
23. Keante Minor

Commitment: Arkansas
Labeled as one of the nation's fastest players, Minor can out-everything many opposing defenders. He can beat them off the snap, outrun them in a leg race and out-jump them with an impressive vertical.
While his hands need some work, he'll surely be an asset for the Razorbacks.
22. DaVaris Daniels

Commitment: Notre Dame
Ranked as the No. 15 wide receiver in the country by Rivals.com, Daniels has an impressive 6'2'', 175-pound frame, which can certainly be added to.
He is said to run solid routes and can be a threat in stretching the field.
21. Tobias Singleton

Commitment: Ole Miss
At 6'2'', 195 pounds, Singleton can play a physical brand of receiver that makes the life of opposing defensive backs tough.
He'll aim at putting together some consistency with added fundamentals and should make an impact within due time for the Rebels.
20. Donte Moncrief

Commitment: Ole Miss
Considered the No. 9 receiver by Rivals.com, Moncrief has superior size and terrific pass-catching abilities.
Moncrief uses his 6'2'', 215-pound frame to get position and make the play in tight coverage.
He'll likely be an immediate-impact freshman for the Rebels.
19. Tacoi Sumler

Commitment: Oregon
Heading to the defending national runners-up, Sumler is known as one of the nation's most versatile players.
Sumler can make a difference in the return game, secondary, and on the offensive side of the ball as a receiver.
18. Danny Woodson

Commitment: Alabama
Woodson is just one of two highly-touted wide receivers heading to Alabama next year. Woodson and fellow wide out Marvin Shinn are sure to make a grand entrance to the Tide.
Woodson is called the nation's No. 24 wide receiver by Scout.com and No. 7 by Rivals.com.
17. Rashad Greene

Commitment: Florida State
Offering what results in a complete package, Greene has the skill set to succeed well in the ACC.
While his speed or explosiveness won't blow you away, Greene has great hands, runs solid routes and can be as physical as needed against opposing defensive backs.
16. Damiere Byrd

Commitment: South Carolina
Considered one of the nation's most athletic wide receivers, Byrd will take his game to South Carolina.
The 5'9'', 160-pound Byrd is rated as a 4-star receiver, and can be extremely elusive with speed and shiftiness.
15. Bill Belton

Commitment: Penn State
Considered a 4-star prospect by Scout.com and Rivals.com, Belton is an athletic wide receiver, or an athlete who can also play wide receiver. It all depends on who you're reading.
Either way you slice it, Belton is a playmaker and will surely see playing time wherever he ends up.
14. Darius Jennings

Commitment: Undeclared
Jennnings is considered a 4-star receiver and brings spectacular speed to the field in his 5'11'', 175-pound frame.
With the ability to change gears in a hurry and cause would-be tacklers to miss at a moment's notice, Jennings is likely to be a solid slot receiver.
13. LaDarius Brown

Commitment: TCU
Brown is considered one of the nation's best deep threats. At 6'2'', 185 pounds and boasting a 4.5 second 40-yard dash, it's easy to understand why.
Brown brings solid route skills and great hands to the Horned Frogs.
12. Jaxon Shipley

Commitment: Texas
Jaxon is the younger brother of former Texas wide receiver Jordan Shipley and is a very similar player.
With terrific hands and even better body control, Shipley could make an immediate and lasting impact in the Longhorns offense next season.
11. Nikolas Brassell

Commitment: Undecided
A solidified deep threat, Brassell is one of the nation's best playmakers.He will continue to work on his hands and pass-catching abilities, but there's no doubt that Brassell has the speed to make his presence known quickly.
10. Kelvin Benjamin

Commitment: Florida State
With the height of a tight end at 6'6'', Benjamin is a huge target for quarterbacks.
His height seems more like that of a tight end, but the athleticism and speed he has is used more at the wide receiver position.
9. Victor Blackwell

Commitment: USC
Blackwell is known for having terrific hands and pass-catching ability.
He seems to catch anything.
Ranked No. 10 by Rivals.com, Blackwell has speed to burn and is a tough cover for any opposing defensive back.
8. Marvin Shinn
18 of 25
Commitment: Alabama
Considered the most electrifying wide receivers in the class of 2011, Shinn is one of Alabama's most highly-touted recruits.
Considered a top 10 wideout by both Rivals.com and Scout.com, Shinn is sure to make an immediate impact next fall for the Tide.
7. DeAnthony Arnett

Commitment: Tennessee
Arnett is as game-ready as any wide receiver in the country, and is a prototypical player at that position in every sense.
At 6'0'', 175 pounds, Arnett is a perfect build for the spot. He has great speed, good hands, runs great routes and can get up in a hurry to pull down a jump ball.
6. Charone Peake

Commitment: Clemson
Considered the fourth-ranked wide receiver in the country by Rivals.com, Peake is a threat to score on nearly every passing down.
Peake, of course, will join Sammy Watkins at Clemson to form perhaps the best wide receiver duo in the FBS.
5. Sammy Watkins
21 of 25
Commitment: Clemson
Watkins is known as one of the nation's top wide receiver prospects and he'll join the party at Clemson along with Peake.
A prototypical wide receiver with exceptional speed, Watkins will likely figure into the return game as well.
4. Kasen Williams
22 of 25
Commitment: Washington
Called the top receiver in the country by Scout.com, Williams is a powerful receiver with the ability to overpower defenders and break tackles for extra yardage.
Williams remains the highlight of Washington's 2011 recruiting class.
3. Trey Metoyer
23 of 25
Commitment: Oklahoma
Metoyer is the No. 5 wide receiver by both Scout.com and Rivals.com, and has the speed to succeed well in the Big 12.
His 6'2'', 185-pound frame should hold up well for the Sooners, but he could also add more bulk.
2. Jarvis Landry
24 of 25
Commitment: LSU
Landry makes up for his lack of size with impressive speed, solid route-running ability, and terrific hands. He is a playmaker in every sense of the word.
Landry projects early to make his presence known in third-down situations at LSU.
1. George Farmer
25 of 25
Commitment: USC
Farmer is considered by many as the nation's top wide receiver.
With speed to burn and the size and strength to overpower defenders he can't outrun, there is very little Farmer can't do.
He'll surely make an immediate impact for the Trojans next fall.
