Savon Huggins: The Odds He Doesn't Sign with Notre Dame on National Signing Day
Savon Huggins, the 4-star running back from St. Peter's Prep (NJ) down to a final list of four schools that includes in no specific order, North Carolina, Rutgers, Michigan State and Notre Dame.
When Huggins began looking at schools early in the process, many felt he was an Irish lock, yet now that may not be the case. The Irish are pulling out all of the stops to land Huggins, who they feel would work wonders in their offense.
let's examine Notre Dame's chances.
Huggins Struggling With a Decision

It is being reported that even though Huggins is due to announce his selection on Friday, he is still struggling with choosing a school.
The 6'0", 190 pound running back is highly coveted and whittled his list down to a final four, including Notre Dame. He's still not sure what he wants to do and where he wants to go, yet as of right now, he's still due to announce Friday at 5pm EST.
Decisions, decisions...
Notre Dame's Competition

Aside from the Irish, Huggins is looking at North Carolina, Michigan State and in-state Rutgers. He also took a trip to Auburn in mid December, yet many feel that the Tigers are behind the main four at this point.
Huggins is done with all of his official visits, as Rutgers hosted him last weekend on his final visit. He went to Michigan State earlier this month and saw North Carolina around Halloween.
He really enjoyed each of those visits, met the coaches, players and staff of the program, yet Huggins has really taken time to study how he would fit in each of those team's offenses. As of right now, he thinks he'd be a great fit in all of them.
Vist To South Bend

Huggins made the trip to Notre Dame in mid October and Brian Kelly has been him recruiting very hard throughout the process.
Kelly made the trip to New Jersey in fall to watch Huggins play in person, just to show him how much of a priority he is to the Irish's program and recruiting efforts.
Huggins really enjoyed the facilities, players, coaching staff and allure of the Notre Dame campus during his visit.
Is Huggins Fighting The Irish Spread?
4 of 6
Huggins has had concerns about how he's fit in the Notre Dame spread offense. He's ran behind a fullback at St. Pete's and would like to continue to do so in college. Brian Kelly and the Irish offensive staff have been creative in showing Huggins ways he will be effective their offense.
"I have a really good relationship with the whole entire staff and I'm getting a better relationship with coach Kelly," Huggins told Rivals.com.
"He's showing me all the things for them to run the ball because they don't use the fullback, so he's putting little dinks in and stuff like that. When I went there to watch the game I was paying close attention to that. So I really liked what they have to offer and what they're going to do if I come in."
Who Are The Front Runners?
5 of 6
Huggins could commit to any school in his final four and it would not be a big surprise. This race looks pretty tight and could be a photo finish per se.
Yet right now, many feel that Rutgers is the tam to beat, with UNC not too far behind. Rutgers got the coveted last visit and is the in-state school trying to keep him home.
Many times when you see a prospect still unsure with a decsion, the hometown or in-state school's chances increase. North Carolina and Michigan State are very, very seriously being considered because of they way Huggins likes the way they use their running backs.
And The Winner Will Be...?

Here's how we see it right now, with it being a very tight race for Huggins.

North Carolina - 25%

Michigan State - 20%
