Tiger Woods: Will Woods Make His Former Sponsors Sorry in Torrey Pines Return?
It's a new year, which means Tiger Woods gets another shot at trying to take the world of golf back over. He used to be the king before the crashing his vehicle into a tree, and well, you know the rest.
2010 was a year Tiger Woods needs to let go. Forget that he even played in the PGA last year. Start fresh and get back to winning.
Will 2011 be the year he turns it all around? Once he starts winning, people will forget about his downfall. His world spiraled out of control a year ago and Woods has a chance to make it all disappear in the eyes of the pubic. Just win.
This weekend Tiger Woods will play golf and so many eyes will be watching.
A Year to Forget
1 of 10
2010 was just an awful year for Tiger Woods. He attempted to play golf but it was obvious his mind was elsewhere.
He lost his number one ranking. He didn't win a major. He over-thought every shot. People were watching every move Woods made, waiting to judge.
The divorce was messy. Tabloids that never talked sports were jumping on the biggest story of the year. Everybody was in his business and his game suffered.
Well, it's a new year. Everyone will still be in his business, but all he has to do is win.
A new year can usually mean a new you. Golf doesn't really need a new Tiger, just the old one. Woods was always very good at keeping his private life a secret. Now that things are out in the open he has to deal with it.
Can he handle the pressure and triumph in 2011?
Elin's Moved On, Has Tiger?
2 of 10
She made it clear that she wanted out. She got the divorce she wanted and has the kids. And after the storm blew over, she spoke out.
She claimed that she felt stronger than ever. Who could argue with that? The woman had been through so much. It's one thing to get cheated on, but to have it happen multiple times have everyone in the world know about it has to cut deep.
She's moved on. There were rumors that said she had a new boyfriend. Will any of this affect Tiger?
She is the mother of his children. He did play some terrible golf last year. Can he turn things around in 2011 and out everything in the past?
Will The Sponsors Who Let Him Go Regret Their Decision?
3 of 10
First it was Accenture. Then AT&T parted ways with him. And then Gatorade dropped him. Many sponsors ended their ties with Tiger Woods after the sex scandal.
These companies didn't want a cheating spouse that was addicted to sex representing them.
Nike and EA Sports, who focus on Tiger's athletics, supported Woods during his troubles. The same couldn't be said but other companies.
If Woods begins to win, which he will, will they regret dropping him? If Tiger wins a major, will he have companies knocking on his door asking him to star in the commercials?
Isn't it funny how winning changes everything. When you're winning, people want to sponsor you. Tiger was 68th last year on the money list. Where will he be in 2011?
His Last Time at Torrey Pines
4 of 10
For those that forget, Tiger Woods is dominant at Torrey Pines. He has won there a total of seven times.
His most recent win was the last time he was at Torrey Pines in 2008. He forced a playoff against Rocco Mediate in the 2008 US Open where he ended up winning.
He did all of that on a bad knee.
A new year and healthy Tiger could mean good things for the world of golf. Tiger thrives at this course and we could see a great performance at the Farmers Insurance Open this weekend.
Tiger will pair up with Rocco Mediate and Anthony Kim. What an interesting round of golf that will be.
A Chance for Tiger to Revamp His Image
5 of 10
In a way he has already begun working on that.
He has reached out to his fans and joined the social media world. Yes, I too was shocked when I heard Tiger Woods would be on Twitter.
Several jokes later, I knew why he did it. He wants people to see him as a human. He's just like us, only a lot richer.
Everybody makes mistakes. Tiger is trying to bounce back from his and do what he does best, win.
The best way for his image to be revitalized is to win. And in 2011, expect there to be a few victories for Tiger. And that's just on the golf course.
Too easy, I know.
Is He Poised For a Comeback?
6 of 10
Yes. But only if he brings this back.
I'm only kidding.
In all seriousness, Tiger Woods has the chance to once again dominant golf. There's always something about a new year that just rejuvenates people. 2011 is exactly that for Tiger.
All the pain and suffering can be a thing of the past. That was so last year.
He's been working out and is said to be in great physical condition.
Starting the year off at Torrey Pines is just what Tiger needs. In a course where he excels at, Tiger can gain the confidence he needs to have a successful year.
What Would Keep Him From Succeeding?

If he brings this back. Frosted tips, what were you thinking?
Tiger can't let a bad shot affect him. He has to be mentally in control of his game. If he begins to over think everything, it could be another long year.
He'll also need to stay healthy. No one can predict injuries but Tiger can't afford to miss golf for a long period of time.
And lastly, forget all of last year. Forget every terrible thing ever and just play the game. He lost focus last year. And who could blame him?
He will come back strong in 2011.
Is Tiger Still the Best in the US?
8 of 10
Is Phil the new Tiger?
Tiger's terrible play cost him in the rankings this past year. But did Phil Mickelson pass him as the best U.S. Golfer?
I'd have to go with no here. Phil had a great 2010. He won The Masters. But he still hasn't surpassed what Tiger Woods has done. Nor is he capable of doing what Tiger Woods can.
Mickelson has 46 career professional wins where Tiger has 97. I could name all the accolades each has but you all know that Tiger is better. I will say Mickelson is gaining on him and if Tiger truly has lost his game, we will find out this year.
Will Tiger Fight to be Number One Again?
9 of 10
Currently, Tiger is ranked number three. Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer are numbers 1 and 2.
Westwood ended Woods' streak of 281 weeks on top. Tiger was one week shy of 12 total years as the worlds number one golfer.
That my friends is pure domination. And he lost it just like that.
Woods knows how horrible he was last year. He was not Tiger Woods on the golf course.
It's been a completely different off season and Woods should be mentally and physically prepared to obtain his rightful spot as number one.
Will We Forever View Tiger as Human Now?
10 of 10
Before that Thanksgiving night we all thought Tiger was so far above us. Here's this super star athlete that has it all. He has the perfect wife, two great kids, and he's the best at his sport.
But then it all came tumbling down. Tiger woods was not perfect. In fact, he was a little messed up.
He's since tried to fix things and make things right. But will people honestly forget? I know if he wins that most will but does it change who he is forever? Absolutely.
Tiger is human just like you and I. And you should never forget that.
