Asante Samuel Blasts Chicago Bears' Quarterback Jay Cutler Via Twitter
For an NFL cornerback who is known not only for his great ball skills, but maybe just as much for his inability to play TACKLE football, Eagles' Asante Samuel put his two cents in via Twitter on the Jay Cutler saga.
When Cutler left the Bears’ NFC Championship game with a knee injury Sunday, Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel had something to say, well, tweet about it.
Samuel wrote when Cutler remained out of the game:
“Man shoot that [expletive] up with a needle. He ain't got to do much jus drop back and throw the ball.”
Samuel then went out of his way to congratulate Bears backup Caleb Hanie, who replaced Cutler:
“If anybody no who this guy is and if he's on twitter. Pls tell him I am proud of him.”
Now, for die hard Eagles fans this 'tweet' from their All-Pro cornerback may come as a little bit of a surprise.
How do you (Asante Samuel) criticize another NFL player for missing playing time due to an injury when you missed five games this past season with a similar 'questionable' leg injury? Seems a bit hypocritical if you ask me.
Couple that with the fact that Samuel is one of if the the least physical defensive players in the NFL, and you can see why I believe he needs to keep his 'tweets' to himself.
