National Signing Day: Five Visits That Could Seal The Deal For Top Recruits

Bleacher ReportJan 19, 2011

National Signing Day 2011 is approaching and the college football recruiting season is coming to an end.

With many of the nation's top recruits still undeclared, the final weeks of the recruiting season are especially important as the uncommitted recruits are scheduled to make their final official visits.

With the looming deadline, schools will roll out the red carpet in hopes of landing their prized recruits to end the season on a high note.

As the final weeks tick on the 2011 college football recruiting clock, here are five key visits that could seal the deal for top recruits.

Savon Huggins

1 of 5

The highly touted running back from New Jersey will make his final official visit to Rutgers on Jan. 28.

The Scarlet Knights have remained a legitimate candidate to land Huggins despite competition from national powers Auburn, Notre Dame, and North Carolina.

If Rutgers plays its cards right, it could land one of the nation's top backs and get back to the days of Ray Rice.

A crucial visit could certainly end in a win for the Scarlet Knights.

Isaiah Crowell

2 of 5

Crowell, the top-ranked running back in the nation, will make his official visit to Georgia this weekend.

For the Bulldogs, this is the biggest weekend of the recruiting season and one that must end in a verbal commitment from the in-state running back.

Crowell, of course, is down to the Bulldogs, Auburn, and Alabama. With the Tigers and Tide seemingly set at the running back position in this year's class, Georgia may have the edge.

Jadeveon Clowney

3 of 5

Clowney will take a rescheduled visit to Clemson Jan. 28, and that could be the final variable in the wild recruitment in the nation's top player.

Clemson has remained an outside possibility for Clowney as it's been reported that he's set to choose between South Carolina and Alabama.

Still, the Tigers' recruiting class up to this point has been nothing short of spectacular and it could be enough to swing the momentum in the favor of Clemson.

Cyrus Kouandjio

4 of 5

Kouandjio is one of the nation's top offensive tackles in the nation and is one of the highly touted undeclared recruits heading into National Signing Day.

With extreme interest from both Alabama and USC, Kouandjio will take a visit to Iowa Saturday morning.

While time will only tell if the Hawkeyes can take the momentum away from the others.

Ray Drew

5 of 5

Drew will visit Clemson this weekend and the Tigers will certainly aim to land one of the nation's top two defensive ends as Jadeveon Clowney will make his visit Jan. 28.

While it remains a slim possibility that Clemson could land both 5-star recruits, the Tigers do have a shot at getting a commitment from one.

And this weekend's visit from Drew is certainly a key opportunity for Clemson.
