Five Top Tens After Week Four of College Football
The time change got me, as I'm back but still feel like I'm on vacation, so it's just a high five this week.
Top Ten Teams
1) USC: Going to be tough to overtake the Trojans without them losing.

2) Oklahoma: Bradford has the offense running better than just OK.
3) Georgia: While not everyone will agree, since when do I agree with everyone?
4) Florida: Hoping to take a chomp out of Rocky Top this week.
5) Missouri: Did they just score again? Wow!
6) Wisconsin: Favorite in the Big Ten at this point?
7) Penn State: Favorite in the Big Ten at this point?
8) LSU: Still living off last year—they’ve played no one.
9) Oregon: One of the sleepwalking Pac-10 road teams.
10) South Florida: Took down the ranked Jayhawks when they had every excuse to quit.
Ten Weird Things That We Noticed
1) Kirk Ferentz Took The Points: So did we—but up by 14 late with your team laying 13 ½, you take an intentional safety? I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ve heard of this.
2) Helmets Were Flying: Every game and almost every play, someone lost a helmet. Did I miss an equipment change?
3) The Screen Pass: This has almost entirely replaced the toss sweep.
4) West Coast Teams Get No Love: They start their out of conference road games at the equivalent of 9 am their time.
5) Western Kentucky: Not one person I talked to realized they were very recently a I-AA program.
6) Two QB System: So many teams are using these.
7) The Face Mask Rule: Maybe the five-yard unintentional wasn’t such a bad thing.
8) Defense: Not many seem to appreciate it, as most are more stunned than appreciate the 3-2 game.
9) Vandy: Not just undefeated—perfect against the spread.
10) Bad Kicking: Is it me, or does it seem like these guys are about 50/50 to make a field goal these days?
Ten That Stunk It Up This Week
1) Greg Schiano: What was the game plan again?
2) Rick Neuheisel: Your team didn’t get much preparation, so you are going to need some Preparation H.
3) Michigan Offense: Can someone hold on to the ball?
4) Jeff Tedford: Let’s see: You have two QBs, and one them isn’t getting it done. What would you do?
5) Washington: It was over before it started; I think the Huskies are still wishing it never started.
6) Nevada Defense: Who can they tackle?
7) Craig James: I guess I never realized just how bad he is.
8) Ohio State: I may take some heat for this, but they quit out on the field.
9) Illinois: Could have easily lost that game.
10) Miami Mitch: Went 9-11-1 against the spread—his worst week of the year.
Ten That Stink a Little Less but Still Stink a Little
1) Notre Dame: Congrats on the 2-0 start. The world is already hoping that you turn down the BCS Bowl Game.
2) Maryland: What more can I say? They beat a ranked team.
3) Clemson: Can beat a non-JV opponent, but it was NC State.
4) UNLV: Who saw that coming?
5) North Texas State: At least they can cover a 42 1/2 point spread.
6) North Carolina: From barely beating to McNeese State to blowing out the "Kings of Thursday Night."
7) Baylor: Or did they just beat up on a new worst team?
8) South Carolina: Made the SEC proud by showing up for the Dawgs.
9) Southern Miss: I bashed their offseason coaching move, and now they're bashing me.
10) Duke: Hey, they're 2-1.
Ten Games We're Looking Forward to This Week
1) Georgia at Arizona State: Lost some of its luster with the whole UNLV thing, but it's still a game to see.
2) LSU at Auburn: We know Auburn can win scoring only three points—can LSU?
3) Florida at Tennessee: Always great, but the loss in Pasadena hurts a little.
4) Troy at Ohio State: The Buckeyes get another crack at men from Troy—how do they react?
5) Miami at Texas A&M: At least I'm looking forward to it. :)
6) Boise State at Oregon: Now that I know they're playing, I'm intrigued.
7) Notre Dame at Michigan State: I guess we're going to find a few things out in this one.
8) Wake Forest at Florida State: Interesting they made Florida State a 4 1/2 point favorite.
9) West Virginia at Colorado: Looks interesting enough for a Thursday night.
10) Kansas State at Louisville: Who cares who is playing? It's college football on a Wednesday.
We'll be back tomorrow with our first set of picks for the upcoming week.
