Chicago Bulls Prove the Doubters Wrong, Beat the Miami Heat

With his absence, LeBron got to see the two situations that he could have played in, sans Joakim Noah. What I mean by that is that you could effectively have added Bron to the two teams who played today this offseason. The Bulls proved to him that he clearly made a mistake.

The Bulls out-rebounded the Heat by twelve 42-30. The Bulls were fighting for it, diving for loose balls, and tapping away passes for steals. Taj Gibson was only credited for one steal but he had at least three other balls that he tipped, even one off of Wade.

The Bulls jumped out to a lead like I hoped they would do and didn't have to play from behind like they often do. After the first quarter, the Bulls led 28-19, and were dominating the Heat. They were outscored by 14 in the second quarter, most of when Rose was out of the game.

There was only one problem that I saw. The defensive rotations were horrendous. Whenever someone like Wade got past their defender, they had no one back to defend it. However this is easily remedied. When Joakim Noah gets back, you can be sure that it will happen. I think that the arrival of Joakim Noah can easily rival the arrival of LeBron for the next game.

But really the story of the game was the fourth quarter. Rose and Wade were going at it, trying to keep their team in it. Wade hit some ridiculous threes. However Rose eventually missed one and the ball was batted around. Finally it went out to Kyle Korver who picked up the ball and calmly drained a three. Bang! And right there was the game.

Even though LeBron wasn't playing, this was a great game and shows that the Bulls definitely stand more than a chance against this Heat team, even in a seven game series.
