Dee Hart Commits To Alabama Over Michigan: What It Means For Alabama Football
Alabama was licking its wounds from hearing the news about Brent Calloway when suddenly those wounds didn't sting so badly, if at all, any more.
Dee Hart of Dr. Phillips (Fla.) chose to bolt from his Michigan pledge and make it official in his verbal to the Tide.
Hart is a talented runner and Michigan thought he could have created a dynamic duo with Denard Robinson before Rich Rodriguez was fired earlier this week.
The Wolverines' loss is the Tide's gain; check out what all this means for Alabama football.
Dee Hart's Scouting Report
1 of 3
Hart compares to players like Eric Metcalf and former West Virginia running back Noel Devine. Hart isn't the biggest back at 5-8, 190 pounds, but he does have a thick lower body and deceptive power.
Hart's best attributes are his speed, quickness, agility, and vision as a running back. He can also be deployed into the slot and create match up problems for linebackers as a receiver.
He's a do-it-all player who is deadly in space. He will allow Jim McElwain to get creative to find ways to get him the ball.
Hart likely will not be an every-down back due to his limited size, in part because he likely will lack the strength to to hold up in blitz pick up vs. oncoming linebackers.
His ball security has been questioned at times, and with the weight he will pick up in a college weightlifting program, will his speed and quickness decrease?
Other Finalist: Michigan

Hart looked to be a solid pledge as a future Big House tenant as early as December, but with the constant rumors of Rich Rodriguez's job security, Hart began to look seriously at Alabama.
He made a soft verbal to the Tide last week and the next day, Rodriguez was fired which all but sealed and delivered him to Tuscaloosa.
Today, Hart made his decision official and firm, choosing to play for Nick Saban over the next Michigan Man.

This makes Alabama's star-studded recruiting class even more interesting. Sure, they lost out on Calloway, but does this also push Carver (Ga.) running back Isaiah Crowell to Georgia over Alabama?
Alabama currently sits at the second slot in our national rankings, and Hart's commitment will make us look seriously at switching the Tide and Texas as one and two.
Hart joins Jesse Williams, HaSean Clinton-Dix, Marvin Shinn, Phillip Ealy, Aaron Douglas, Xzavier Dickson, and Trey DePriest in a star-studded, 21-commit Alabama recruiting class.
