BCS National Championship: Ranking 12 Players to Win Heisman and National Title
The 2011 BCS National Championship Game, between the Auburn Tigers and Oregon Ducks, is only days away and will be featuring this year's Heisman Trophy winner, Cameron Newton.
In college football, the Heisman Trophy is the most prestigious award you can win as an individual, while the national championship is the most prestigious award you can win as a team, and Cam Newton has the opportunity to win both. Throughout the 75-year history of the Heisman Trophy, only 12 players have managed to win both the Heisman and national championship.
Some of those remarkable players are Michigan's Charles Woodson, Florida State's Charlie Ward, USC's Matt Leinart and TCU's Davey O'Brien.
The following slides exhibit a power ranking of the 12 players who have won both the Heisman Trophy and national championship in the same year.
