Andrew Luck Stanford have been in the news recently because of the status of the quarterback and Cardinal coach Jim Harbaugh.
Harbaugh is testing the coaching waters, and Andrew Luck may declare for the draft. A lot of people think he's the top pick in the draft. There's a couple of good reasons to go out, but there are also plenty of reasons to stay, and inside are 10 of them.

No. 10: Money Isn't an Issue

A lot of top picks come out for the draft because they want to help support their family.
That's not the case with Andrew Luck. His family is fine with money, and there's no pressure to get paid now if you're the quarterback. There will be no pressure from anyone to get the payday now, and he'll be fine.
That may be a huge factor in his decision making.

Your initial reaction, more times than not, is the right one, and you should always listen to your heart when it comes to these important decisions. If I'm him, I wouldn't let the hype or anything else pressure me into a decision.

Teams that have the first pick are usually not a great option, but the Panthers don't have a head coach, and the whole situation is in flux at the moment. That's not something that I'd want to go into. I'd want to know who my coach is.

Luck is in it for the long haul. He is studying architectural design at Stanford and has mentioned numerous times that he wants to earn a degree from the school. It's something that matters to him and a factor that will weigh on his mind.
That could be something that pushes him to stay and a very valid reason.
No. 3: Jimmy Clausen

Jimmy Clausen is the rookie quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, and with Andrew Luck in the fold, it could be messy.
While Clausen was the guy for John Fox, there will be a new coach in town, and who knows what there's going be in a couple of weeks and what their philosophy on Clausen will be? If they want to keep him around and try him out, it will be a bit strange to have Luck there.
That strange situation could keep him from declaring.

Money isn't always money. It's about respect, and with the pay scale being the way it is, he may want some endorsements to set off that loss of salary.

There's a possible lockout looming, and Luck could be sitting around waiting for a year while he could have been playing at Stanford. The lockout looms over everything that the league does, and it could have a big impact on Luck's choice.
I would like to know where the league is going to be next year before I made a move, and staying out of the draft might be the smarter move.
