Where Will Michigan Football Coach Rich Rodriguez Go?
As I am writing this article, the Gator Bowl is in the third quarter and Michigan is losing, 38-14. It seems like Rich Rodriguez has no chance of retaining his job. The defense continues to struggle, and the special teams looks awful, putting too much pressure on the offense to score every time they have the ball. Michigan does not seem to be getting any better.
One would think that the time off could have helped Michigan improve, but it seems there has been no improvement. It is not a recipe for a winning program, and Rich Rodriguez will most certainly be fired. Names of who will be the next Michigan head coach have begun and ended with Jim Harbaugh. We will know by Jan. 4 whether or not this is the case. If not Harbaugh, names like Brady Hoke and Les Miles have also been mentioned.
Now that it is almost certain UM will be looking for a new coach, where will Rich Rodriguez be? BTW, Michigan just failed to convert on a 4th-and-goal.
University of Maryland

Ralph Friedgen has been pushed out, and rumors have Rodriguez as a perfect fit for Maryland. But Mike Leach has already met with Maryland, and the reports are that it went really well. Also, it has been reported that Randy Edsall is being hired as to replace Friedgen. This door maybe closed if Rich Rod is on the market.
Will Rich Rod have a chance in the ACC? Are Leach and Rodriguez similar coaches?

Reports have Charlie Weis going to the University of Florida as offensive coordinator. Would Rich Rod accept an assistant coaching position?
He is an offensive genius, and maybe time in the NFL can help him grow as a coach. Could he adapt the spread to the NFL?

Bill Cowher is doing TV now but has been rumored to want to return to coaching. Dick Vermeil did TV for years before returning to coach in the NFL. Lee Corso has done so well as a broadcaster that there have never been any rumors of him returning.
Could Rich Rod do well for a few years as a commentator before returning to coaching?
