WrestleMania 27: 15 Bold Predictions For WWE's Must-See Event

The Jonathan CooneyyJan 1, 2011

This years WrestleMania has all the potential to be a top class event.

I think when that enormous event comes we will see the amazing climax of the bitter feuds between some of the WWE's biggest names Triple H and Sheamus, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton and of course CM Punk and John Cena.

Earlier this year there were rumours circulating that WWE decided they wanted Justin Bieber to sing America's national anthem.

Despite what we think of the teen he is a top star who would attract some pay-per-view buys and that results in more money heading towards Vinces bank account which mean he could be building up   this event to top the rest of them.

My favourite WrestleMania was definitely WrestleMania 17.

During that event we seen Pro Wrestling greats The Undertaker and Triple H go one-on-one as well as the main event being another meeting between The Rock and his nemesis "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

We also seen one of the greatest tag team matches ever as Edge and Christian defeated legendary tag team The Dudleys and The Hardy Boys in a sensational Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the WWF Tag Team Championship.

WWE also treated us to an awesome match between great in-ring stars Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit.

One question we always ask our self when we think about WrestleMania is will it ever be as good as the one back in 2001 (WrestleMania 17).

1. The Miz Will Continue to Improve

1 of 15

The Miz made a bizzare statement on RAW claiming that he was better than The Undertaker and his successful defence of his and Big Show's titles at WrestleMania 26 were "special".

The pair started off in the tag team division by defeating champions D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) and The Straight Edge Society (CM Punk and Luke Gallows) to become the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions, making Miz a triple champion.

The Miz has since risen to stardom by becoming a WWE Champion, Money in the Bank and a two time winner of the United States title.

The Miz has definitely been a huge talking point throughout the entire year of 2010 after engaging in spiteful feuds against the likes of Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Bret Hart and his former best friend and tag team partner John Morrison.

People look at The Miz and see a transition champion. I think if WWE use him correctly he could be far more and better than that.

On Monday Night RAW he should a brand new side of aggression as he savagely beat Jerry Lawler and impressed thousands worldwide with his "awesome" mic skills.

The Miz should not be taken lightly and I strongly think he has a serious chance of still being our Champion come WrestleMania and I know a lot of you have the same feeling.

The WWE must be high on Miz or he would not be as successful as he is now.

2. Tyler Black (AKA Seth Rollins) Will Be Feuding With a Main Eventer By then

2 of 15

This may be a bit premature to say considering the former Ring of Honour Champion has yet to debut on the WWE's main roster as of yet.

All the WWE creative team have to do is have the talented superstar eliminate a big name from the rumble and then work on that as feud as the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view closes in.

If Triple H or Chris Jericho do not return in time for the big event then Sheamus or Randy Orton would have nothing to do so they would be ideal.

But then again seeing Daniel Bryan and Tyler Black back in the same ring together would be something good to see in WWE.

Rey Mysterio or Alberto Del Rio would be ideal considering after months of feuding together you would assume the WWE Creative Team will give them some new material.

Edge would be another good pick but I hope he is locked up in an angle upon Christian's return and the same can be said about Kane and The Undertaker.

Tyler is a top quality star and I was actually delighted to see that the WWE did not just throw him on NXT as he is far to good for that sham of a show.

3. Jack Swagger Will Leave the Company Before the Event Comes Around

3 of 15

Jack Swagger may be smiling in the photograph but deep down you must believe he is in deep agony over the way WWE have treated him.

Swagger is one of WWE's best athletes who started his title reign so strong with a clean victory over Randy Orton!

Swagger dominated the ECW brand before Christian took him down, Swagger made a fool out of Finlay, Matt Hardy and Tommy Dreamer.

Even when Swagger was champion he was still a jobber.

He was defeated twice by Orton, once by Cena as well as Kingston and just after he lost his title he was beat by Big Show, Kane, Rey Mysterio and MVP.

The Miz and Kane who recently won Money in the Bank contracts have had far better title reigns and I think it is very fair to say that Jack Swagger is far better in the ring that the both of them men.

Jack has to be a bit fed up and we all seen what happened this year with MVP and Dave Batista... If the push and victories are not there for the deserving ones then WWE could be set to lose yet another star.

4. Sheamus Will Cleanly Defeat a Big Name at a Big Event.

4 of 15

Triple H is going to be his opponent unless he wins the Royal Rumble (which I would not be shocked to see happen).

Sheamus beating Triple H cleanly at WrestleMania will prove to the world that he is a top quality main event star.

I think the best, most realistic way for The Game to return is by having him interfere in the Royal Rumble when it is down to the final four.

And if the WWE make sure he looks strong so viewers will be expecting him to win and will be really shocked when Trips shows up and costs him the match.

If this theory does work out then WWE could expand his character by bring out more rage and aggression in the "Celtic Warrior".

Triple H and Sheamus is a rage match almost a year in the making and if it is no holds barred or falls count anywhere then it would be interesting to see the more hardcore side of each men as Sheamus attempts to out-do his arch-nemesis.

5. CM Punks Nexus Will Play a Big Part in the Event

5 of 15

It was brilliant seeing CM Punk attack John Cena and it is not because I am a hatter of Cena or because I am a huge CM Punk fan but it was because we all know Punk deserves another main event angle because he is an absolute mega star.

He has the right look, perfect mic skill and incredible in-ring skills. He is the only pro wrestler in the business at the moment who has all of them.

CM Punk was great mid card star and an even better commentator but we all know that CM Punk belongs in the main event scene for years to come.

The Nexus have great potential to do serious damage to the RAW Roster and I do not just mean stupid attacks and stale beating I mean they are young and fresh they should be competing for titles and retiring the older guys.

WWE should and probably will treat us to some juicy angles involving the new Nexus with CM Punk in their ranks.

I would just love to add one quick not. I think it is now a massive pity that Luke Gallows has been released but the WWE, I think he would fit in nicely in the Nexus and WWE must be thinking the same.

6. Punk Will Beat John Cena Cleanly As the Pair Will Battle It Out at the Event!

6 of 15

John Cena vs. CM Punk has all the potentials to be ones if the biggest and best rivalries in the WWE in a very, very long time.

CM Punk deserves a the top of the food chain and If all goes well in this feud you would have to believe he will be the WWE's next number one contender.

CM Punk has had a really rough time in 2010 that has been ruined with injury and totally horrible mistakes by the dim-witted creative team, by that I obviously mean the SES, letting Punk be beaten cleanly by Mysterio and Show and many other.

John Cena has one to matches cleanly and has been beaten uncleanly by too many superstar who probably deserved and needed the win more these stars include Barrett, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton just to name a few.

And because of them reason John Cena has adapted the nickname "Superman" as you are all very aware of at this point.

This nickname is not healthy for kids to support as it is giving them unrealistic childhood hero and they will want to grow up and become him and life it all about shaking your hand from left to right and winning, winning, winning every night.

CM Punk has to defeat John Cena cleanly for so many reasons.

7. Christian Will Win the Royal Rumble

7 of 15

Christian is one of the best stars in WWE at the moment except for the major fact that is he is continuously overlooked, under-rated and most definitely under appreciated.

When Captain Carisma returned to the WWE and took control of the ECW brand (literally) I quickly assumed that WWE had finally realised, after many years who is vital to their production and income.

Let's just face it Christian is probably more loved then some past and present World Champions and even main eventers and that is not just because he plays a very funny babyface.

I, like many other would rather he was the heel that he played so greatly in the past h as he collected titles in the process.

Upon his return and outside of ECW he has only been involved in two good things and they are his match against Edge and his feud against the arrogant up and coming Alberto Del Rio.

And to be brutally honest even his feud with Del Rio was nothing serious and it will not go anywhere when Christian does return because we all know well that Christian was only jobbing to the talented Mexican.

I think Christian will win the Rumble, main event WrestleMania win two world titles and the United States Championship and then he will probably retire one of the happiest men on the planet.

On the current WWE roster Christian is the most deserving superstar in history, bar none. (In my opinion).

8. Edge Vs. Christian Will Steal the Show

The Rated-R Superstar is in the middle of dealing with the dominant "The Big Red Monster" Kane and if my prediction works out he will face another tough feud next as he will be battling the very talented, Christian!

Considering Edge has been heel for very large portions of his career I think it would be a very nice twist if Christian was the one who selfishly turns his back on his once best friend and turns heel as it will just add a special spice into the match.

Christian and Edge have many talented and one of them is the fact that both men can play face or heel with no real bother to them because they are so good on the mic and a thousand time better in the ring.

Christian vs. Edge is what everyone wants, we all know that and I think if this match was on the final card it would look very attractive in terms of PPV buys and I think it is important they take advantage of all they can get considering Michaels, Batista and Bret will not be attending this event.

Triple H, Chris Jericho and The Undertaker are also very serious doubts as the biggest event in Pro Wrestling's history closes in.

Edge vs. Christian should and will happen if Edge can keep his title past the tricky Elimination Chamber and if Christian does infact win the even more tricky Royal Rumble.

It is hard to determine whether or not this match will take place but I have a feeling it just will!

9. Money in the Bank Will Be There and It Will Be the Best One Yet

9 of 15

WWE would have to be highly under the influence if they decided not to include the popular Money in the Bank Ladder Match in this years event.

Could you imagaen Daniel Bryan, John Morrison, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, Kofi Kingston, JTG and Cody Rhodes in that match?

It would unpredictable, high-flying amongst many other.

I think with the current crop of mid-carders in the WWE they have the opportunity to put on one heck of a match that will quinch all of our thirst for an extreme match.

Without blood and chairshoots to the skull it will probably be a little hard for WWE to "add that exclamation mark" that is need to help with a match of this standard.

But then again in all honesty I really enjoyed Sheamus vs. John Morrison at TLC and it had no blood or crunching chair shots.

Apart from Jeff Hardy vs. Edge and Jeff Hardy vs. Undertaker, I can safely say that Sheamus and Morrison put on one of the best displays of the century in a ladder match.

WWE need the Money in the bank to continue at WrestleMania and I really hope they don't break tradition, it would be a pity of they did.

When they're is so little tradition left in WWE I think it is vital they maintain the little bit that they have left.

10. Daniel Bryan Will Win the Money in the Bank

10 of 15

This may be a little bit premature to say considering he is not exactly in WWE very long but I think they must be really high up on this talent.

They have allowed him to beat The Miz and Edge along with more as well as giving him the US Title and many appearances.

They also risked the wrath of criticisim by bringing him back after he dangered their PG Era by strangling Ring  announcer Justin Roberts with his very own tie.

Daniel Bryan will win a World Title in WWE some day and really to be honest it makes no difference as he wins it as quick Sheamus or Lesnar or as long as JBL, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guererro.

Daniel Bryan winning the Money in the Bank and cashing it in straight-up (like the way RVD did) it would do wonders for his already success career.

If she cash it in against a fellow submission athlete like Jericho or Swagger then the feud and matches would be tremendous for Bryan and WWE itself.

11. Dolph Ziggler Will Still Be Intercontental Champion and Will Defend It at WM

11 of 15

Dolph Ziggler is one of the greatest Inertcontental Champions in recent times.

Dolph Zigglers strong alliance with the beautiful Vickie has been an icredibley great mixture of humour and brain. It was a great idea to pair them up as a couple because Dolph was lacking that heat his character was desiring.

We have seen Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler in the past for this very title however, I think the duo have the ability to put on another great match.

Dolph could face Kofi Kingston but that would be an incredible let down considering we seen that much about eleven or twelve times over the course of 2010.

Other possible opponents could be Ezekiel Jackson but from an actual wrestling point of view that might be a bit of a risk as Zek is not on par with the rest who could compete well that is everyone bar The Big Show it would be horrible if he was up against him.

The only hope of mine is that WWE do not pair the United States Title and the Intercontental Title together as that would send all mid carders into no mans land.

12. Not As Many People Will Be Buying As Before

12 of 15

Without fan favourites Dave Batista, Shawn Michaels, Dave Finlay, MVP, Matt Hardy and Kaval, who always got good pops when heading towards the ring it is obvious that prices will be way down.

It is already under question whether Goldust, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Evan Bourne and The Undertaker will be on the final match card and WWE cannot risk any more inactivities.

With the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber approaching there is a very high chance that they're will be at least, at least one more injury.

WWE need to make the card look as attractive as possible.

13. Undertaker and Kane Will Be Apart Of the Event In a Match Or Not

13 of 15

I can not decide will it be as a team or as enemies.

WWE cannot and should not have Undertaker absent from the match card it would be so wrong on dozens of different levels.

Undertaker has been WWE's top star and biggest attraction for a while now and him not a WrestleMania would break hearths.

Undertaker has faced Shawn Michaels for two WrestleMania's in a row and without doubt there first match was the better one but the build up and conclusion to their second one would be even more special.

I think a one-off match between DX and The Brothers of Destruction would be special but that is very doubtful for so many reasons known to all of us.

Kane and Undertaker always makes for great television but it is just how they do it will be the main question or talking point.

Rumours were circulating around the web that WWE wanted to team the kayfabe brothers up and have them go against The Nexus.

This would make no sense whatsoever considering Otunga and friends buried him alive.

14. RAW GM Will Be Revealed

14 of 15
The peoples champion was hinted to be the RAW GM!
The peoples champion was hinted to be the RAW GM!

The Whole RAW General Manager angle has been one of the biggest talking points during the majority of 2010.

Legendary figures like The Rock, Steve Austin, Shaw Michaels, Triple H and Vince McMahon have all been linked as well as currently inactive Superstar Chris Jericho.

Outside favourites have been Michael Cole, Kevin Nash, Paul Heyman, Abraham Washington and Stephanie McMahon.

Personally at this point in time, I could not care less who the General Manager as long as we get the revelation as soon as possible.

It is very frstrating watching Michaels Cole stand up and reading out a chessy message after the beeping sound ruins matches, segments and well, our show!

My favourite out off all these to be GM would be a guy like Nash or Trips who would be heel and not scared off by the other guys that would step into their office.

15. Brock Lesnar Will Not Be Attending...

15 of 15

Brock Lesnar is in the prime of his career and creating headlines over a "confrontation" with WWE legend The Undertaker.

Brock is currently assigned to UFC and is doing consideribly well on the Mixed Martial Arts show but after his contract states that he has only one more fight left on his contract...

What does this mean?

Nothing because if Dana White has even half a brain she will schedule the fight some time in the summer when WrestleMania and Brock Lesnar-WWE rumours are dead and totally buried.

Brock being in WWE does sound pretty damn attractive and I could think of about a dozens wrestlers I would love to see him take on or have a rematch against.

Obviously, John Cena and Brock Lesnar would seem to be the best match as years ago on SmackDown I actually really enjoyed their feud, and now that Cena is all grown up it would be an even better and more bitter battle.

I am 100% confident that Brock will not even be in attendence at WrestleMania 27.
