Liverpool Match Postponed Due To Weather, Wolves Next in Line for League Action
Liverpool saw their second successive match called off this morning, as the away fixture against Blackpool was cancelled due to a frozen pitch.
As previously reported, the stadium at Bloomfield Road does not have undersoil heating and, despite the best attempts of the Blackpool ground staff, the pitch could not be rescued from the foul weather. Following on from the cancellation of Liverpool's game against Fulham recently, today's game was also called off.
Rivals Everton's match was also cancelled as Merseyside-based Premier League fans suffered a Christmas period devoid of football.

Liverpool are next due to be in action on the 29th December in a home fixture at Anfield against the current Premier League basement boys, Wolverhampton Wanderers, who suffered a 2-1 reversal at home to Wigan Athletic today.
The Reds' home form has been markedly better over the past month or so and Liverpool will be strong favourites to overcome Wolves, who are without an away win all season and who have won a total of one point away from home in their eight fixtures. However, two full weeks without a game could work either way for Liverpool—the players could (and hopefully will) be absolutely raring to go and produce a great performance, or the rustiness could take a little longer to shake off.
One thing is for sure; the Liverpool supporters will be certainly chomping at the bit to see their players in action again, who will hopefully serve up a belated Christmas gift of three points in the process.
