
College Football Recruiting 2011: Predictions For The Top 25 Available Recruits
Now is getting on time for the home stretch in recruiting and where coaches are on the trail, making calls, driving, and flying all over the country to land the very best high school players.
While some players have already made their decisions known, others are still weighing offers and keeping their options open.
Let's check in on the top 25 available recruits out there right now.
25. Colt Lyerla, ATH, Hillsboro (Oregona)

Lyerla could line up at an array of positions such as tight end, defensive end, and wide receiver.
The 6-5, 225 pound athlete is currently weighing offers from both in-state Oregon schools, Cal, UCLA, Washington, Stanford, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Colorado.
Look this battle to come down to Oregon and Oregon State.
24. Odell Beckman Jr., ATH, Isidore Newman School (Louisiana)

Beckman is a versatile 5-10, 170 pound football player with the physical tools to play corner back, running back, receiver, and safety.
He lists Nebraska,LSU, Tulsa, Southern Miss, and Tulane among his leaders.
LSU has a good shot at landing him.
23. Anthony Zettel, DE, Ogemaw Heights (Michigan)

Zettel is the typical big and physical Big 10 type of defensive lineman.
6-4, 255 pounds with a high motor, he's looking at Michigan, Michigan State, USC, Penn State and Iowa.
He looks like a future Michigan man right now.
22. Ishaq Williams, DE, Lincoln (New York)

6-6 and 220 pounds, Williams has a long frame and and even longer line of potential.
He's looking at Notre Dame, Penn State, Syracuse, and got a visit from Al Golden of Miami recently.
A three team race, look for Penn State to win out.
21. Savon Huggins, RB, St. Peter's Prep (New Jersey)

Huggins is a dynamic runner with smarts to boost, at 6-0, 190 pounds.
Auburn, Notre Dame, Rutgers, North Carolina, USC and Michigan State are all hot for his talents.
This could be a tight race, as I look for Rutgers, Auburn and Notre Dame to be in the running heavily.
20. Viliami Moala, DT, Grant Union (California)

Moala is 6-2, 320 mammoth defensive tackle with strength and quickness to do what he wants, when he wants.
Boasting offers from a plethora of top programs, USC and Cal look to be the main two schools vying for his services.
19. Jermauria Rasco, DE, Evangel Christian (Louisiana)

From a program that has had former quarterbacks Brock Berlin and John David Booty play for them comes a fantastic defensive end prospect in Rasco.
The 6-3, 230 pound pass rusher could also see time at linebacker in college.
As wide open as a recruit could possibly be he lists LSU, Alabama, Florida State, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Auburn among many, many other schools of interest. Look for LSU to stand out.
18. Lamar Dawson, LB, Boyle County (Kentucky)

Dawson is a linebacker who combines athleticism with physical play at 6-2, 230.
Kentucky, Tennessee, USC, Louisville, Michigan, Oregon, and Florida round out his leaders.
Right now he looks like Kentucky's to lose.
17. Jay Rome, TE, Valdosta (Georgia)

Rome has the makings of a prototypical flex tight end, as he's 6-5, 255 pounds, with great hands and deceptive RAC skills.
It's going to come down to Georgia and Tennessee, and Rome has said he loves the effort the Bulldogs have put in to get him.
16. Greg Townsend, DE, Beverly Hills (California)

At 6-4, 245 pounds, Townsend excels at playing both the run and pass and is still physically maturing into his body.
He is currently looking hard at USC, TCU and Washington. Oregon and Miami are also in the hunt.
He could opt for USC but stay tuned.
15. Doran Grant, DB, St. Vincent-St. Mary (Ohio)

At 5-10, 170 pounds, Grant has the athletic ability, hips, leaping ability, and confidence to match up with any receiver in the country.
He's down to Michigan State and Ohio State, and odds say the Buckeyes will win him over.
14. Stephone Anthony, LB, Anson (North Carolina)

Athletic, but more so a rare "sure tackler", the 6-3, 220 pound Anthony has also been clocked at 4.5 in the 40.
Florida, Clemson, North Carolina State and Virginia Tech all sit even right now.
Look for Clemson and North Carolina state to go down to the wire on this one.
13. Marcus Roberson, DB, St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida)

A long framed corner at 6-1, Roberson is a reminder of Cardinals' corner back Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with his athletic ability, quickness, and agility.
Miami has crept up back into the race and he will look at Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Texas Tech and USC, who are all even at this point.
12. Jeoffrey Pagan, DE, Ashville (North Carolina)

Pagan looks like a defensive tackle when you see him, then when you watch him, you're amazed at his athletic ability at defensive end,
6-4, 275 pounds, Pagan will be a versatile swing defensive lineman at the next level.
He committed to Florida, but has opened things back up to Alabama, USC, LSU, Clemson, Tennessee and Oregon to round out his top five.
This race could finish at anytime, anywhere and Tennessee is making sure it finishes on their campus.
11. Isaiah Crowell, RB, Carver (Georgia)

Crowell is one the most complete backs in the country and maybe the most decorated player in Georgia this year.
5-11 and 200 pounds, Crowell looks like and more importantly, runs like Joseph Addai.
It's come down to a standoff between Georgia and Alabama, and the feeling is Georgia has a great shot to have Crowell run for them.
10. Ray Drew, DE, Thomas County Central (Georgia)

Drew is a 6-5, 245 pound defensive end who will be chasing quarterbacks next at the Army All-American game.
A terror and a menace to offensive coordinators, Drew has an array of big time schools in high demand for his services.
Florida, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, and LSU are his top five and he could wind up at any of those schools.
9. Nick O'Leary, TE, Dwyer (Florida)

O'Leary is a 6-4, 230 pound tight end who can factor in the passing game and running game
A passionate player, O'Leary has Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Georgia, Miami, Wisconsin, and Tennessee all after him hard.
Look for Florida State to get him to be a Seminole.
8. Marqise Lee, ATH, Serra (California)

Lee has made a great transition from the court to the gridiron an could play safety, corner back, running back, or receiver in college.
6-1, and 190 pounds, Lee has been a quick study to learn the nuances off being a football player.
He lists USC, Oregon, Washington, Miami, Michigan, Oregon State, and Stanford among others as favorites.
With teammate George Farmer and former teammate Robert Woods as Trojans, Lee seems destined for Troy.
7. Cyrus Kouandjio, OL, DeMatha (Maryland)

A huge, yet extremely nimble and athletic offensive lineman, Koundjio is a top notch talent.
6-6, 320 pounds of quickness, agility, and power, he could play tackle or guard in college.
Alabama, Miami, Iowa, New Mexico, and USC are his top five. He has voiced concerned with competing against his brother for time at Alabama, so look for USC to be a dark horse school to win this one.
6. Kris Frost, ATH, Butler (North Carolina)

Frost may be the very most overall athletic players in this year's class. He's 6-3, 210 pounds, and has speed, quickness, agility, explosion and instincts to play literally anywhere.
He's a jack of all trades type player who could wind up at defensive end, linebacker, safety or receiver, where he has stated his desire to play, at the next level.
Auburn and Michigan seem to be the finalists and look for Auburn to win out.
5. Timmy Jernigan, DT, Columbia (Florida)
21 of 25
Jernigan is a 6-2, 275 wrecking ball at defensive tackle. He's athletic for his position and size and has the speed to chase down ball carriers and make plays after penetrating.
He could even wind up at defensive end before his college eligibility is over.
Alabama, Florida State, and LSU are his top three. In-state Florida State seems to be the odds on favorite, but Alabama's defensive scheme is a draw to Jernigan.
4. Tony Steward, LB, Pedro Menendez (Florida)
22 of 25
Steward could play in multiple schemes and at multiple linebacker positions. 6-2 and 225 pounds, Steward is uber aggressive vs. the run and plays with downhill speed.
Florida has come on as of late, yet Steward lists Florida State, UCLA, Clemson, Auburn, and Alabama as his top schools. UCLA is a darkhorse, but look for FSU to lure him to Tallahassee.
3. Christian Westermann, OL, Hamilton (Arizona)

Westermann looks like a future All-American right tackle. 6-5, 290 pounds he loves to get nasty and push defenders around in the running game.
He's currently committed to Texas, yet rumors are swirling he is very seriously interested in Auburn. Texas rarely loses recruits but Auburn is coming on very strong.
2. Curtis Grant, LB, Hermitage (Virginia)

Grant is a physical linebacker prospect with instincts, speed, quickness, and strength. He can play Mike in a 4-3 or inside in a 3-4.
Schools from all areas of the nation have all made the trek to Hermitage to visit with the 6-3, 225 pound 'backer.
He likes Virginia, Oregon, Miami, Clemson and Ohio State along with almost every major program in college football. It's anyone's guess as where he ends up, but Virginia and Clemson are making pushes.
1. Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Pointe (South Carolina)
25 of 25
Clowney is not only the top player in South Carolina, or the top defensive end in this year's class, he's the top overall player in the country.
6-6, 250 pounds Clowney has burst, strength, quickness, and a motor to rush relentlessly.
He's had everyone in the country after him, but he will come down to South Carolina and Alabama. Look for South Carolina to hit the jackpot.
