College Football Recruiting: Power Ranking the Nebraska Cornhuskers' New Class
Yeah, it's December.
But college football season is almost over, and Nebraska Cornhuskers fans are already looking forward to next year.
There's the Big Ten to look forward to. There's the promise of a more successful season. And there's new recruits, plenty of them.
But which of the Cornhuskers' currently committed recruits will make the biggest impact on this team in the future?
Note: All rankings and star ratings are from ESPN.com.
10. David Santos
1 of 10
Santos is an undersized outside linebacker.
However, he is extremely athletic and quick, and size is something that will come with age.
Though it may take a year or two for him to have an impact on defense, he should be an almost immediate force on special teams.
Santos is a three-star recruit that is ranked 32 at his position.
9. Ryan Klachko
2 of 10
Klachko is part of an offensive line class that is one of the best in the nation. This group could be scary four years down the road.
Klachko stands 6-feet-4-inches tall and weighs 280 pounds.
At offensive guard he is ranked 29th at his position in the nation and is a 3-star recruit.
He is considered very athletic for his size, and his strength is run blocking.
8. Tyler Moore
3 of 10
Moore could be another impact player for the Huskers on their offensive line.
Coming out of Florida he stands 6-feet-6-inches tall and weighs 300 pounds.
He is three-star recruit ranked as the 28th offensive tackle in the nation, mostly because he has room to improve with his form.
If his raw talent is honed, he could be amazing.
7. Kevin Williams
4 of 10
Williams is a defensive tackle who is 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighs 270 pounds.
One major concern about Williams is that he may be shorter than listed, but regardless already has the talent to compete at the college level immediately.
He is ranked 20th at his position and is a four-star recruit.
6. Tevin Mitchel
5 of 10
Mitchel is the 17th ranked cornerback in the nation, and he looks to help a Huskers secondary that will see many of its top players be drafted the next two years.
He is a four-star recruit who is 5-foot-11-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds.
Overall, Mitchel is a smart player who defends well against both the pass and run. His speed will be a great asset.
5. Bubba Starling
6 of 10
You're probably wondering why Starling is so low.
Well simple. Because of all the players on this list, he is the least likely to actually play for the Cornhuskers.
Starling is more likely to be playing for an MLB team.
However, if he does come to the Huskers, he is a true dual threat, four-star recruit, who is ranked 6th in the nation at quarterback.
4. Charles Jackson
7 of 10
Jackson is another four-star cornerback recruit for the Huskers.
He weighs in five pounds heavier than Mitchel, and at the same height.
These two will have the opportunity to be an absolute force in the secondary two or three years down the road.
Jackson is ranked 5th at his position in the nation and is a great athlete.
3. Jamal Turner
8 of 10
Turner is very similar in style to quarterback Taylor Martinez.
He is a true dual threat quarterback who is more dangerous running, and he is ranked 5th at his position in the nation.
However, with quarterbacks, there is no way of knowing if he will ever see the field as one.
Because he is such an athlete, it is likely Husker fans will see him at some position other than quarterback, possibly even on defense.
No matter where he plays, it is great to have such an athlete on the team.
2. Ryne Reeves
9 of 10
There's nothing Husker fans love more than some homegrown talent.
Reeves comes from Crete, Nebraska and is the second best center recruit in the nation.
For his size, 6-feet-3-inches and 287 pounds, Reeves is extremely athletic on the line.
He will be key to this team very quickly.
1. Aaron Green
10 of 10
Green spent his high school years playing in Texas' burnt orange color. But, when it came time to choose a college, he chose Husker red.
Green is the Huskers current, lone five-star recruit, and he could have a immediate impact on the team.
With Roy Helu Jr. graduating, Green has the ability to win some playing time immediately.
He is ranked third overall at the running back position.
