College Football Bowl Season: Nebraska, Auburn and the Top 10 Fan Bases
One of the most amazing things about College Football is the fan base that each team possesses.
Bowl Week is upon us and it is imperative that these fans travel to support their schools. When the crowd is behind their team, it allows the squad to gain momentum and can be the deciding factor in football games.
Some schools are defined by their play on the football field while others are defined by their play and how loud their fans are.
So, who is the loudest? Who is the largest?
Here are the top 10 fan bases for Bowl Week.
10. Florida State Seminoles
1 of 10
The Florida State Seminoles will take on Steve Spurrier and his South Carolina Gamecocks in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia.
This should not be a difficult trip to make for Florida State fans as these fans love their Seminoles.
Both teams were 9-4 during the season with Florida State having the slight edge in the SEC.
Expect a big crowd of Seminole fans for this one.
9. Tennessee Volunteers
2 of 10
I know Tennessee only went 6-6 this season, but that does not mean the Volunteer fans are going to give up on their team.
Tennessee will take on North Carolina in the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee.
For fans that tailgate in their boats, they have to be one of the best groups in the nation.
8. Penn State Nittany Lions
3 of 10
Penn State will take on the Florida Gators in the Outback Bowl on January 1, 2011.
Penn State fans must make a long trek down to Tampa, but I do not doubt their dedication for one second.
Watching Penn State and seeing a sea of white in the crowd is priceless.
7. Florida Gators
4 of 10
No Tim Tebow this season, but the Florida Gators still managed to make it to a bowl game. Granted they only went 7-5 and 4-4 in the SEC, but that does not effect their fan base.
This will be an easy trip for Gator fans as the Outback Bowl is being played in their native State.
Expect a big crowd of Gator fans with just a tint of orange.
6. Alabama Crimson Tide
5 of 10
The defending Nation Champions did not quite get back to the big stage, but they will be playing in the Capital One Bowl against Michigan State.
The Alabama fans are wild and they will be in Orlando, Florida to support their Crimson Tide.

The 11th-ranked LSU Tigers will be taking on 17th-ranked Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl.

Nothing like some purple and gold.
4. Ohio State Buckeyes
7 of 10
Ohio State will take on Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl and what a matchup it should be.
Both fan bases will be there, but the crowd should be predominantly red because the Ohio State fans love their Buckeyes.
Quarterback Terrelle Pryor should have a big game.
3. Nebraska Cornhuskers
8 of 10
The Nebraska fans are always fun to see when watching a Cornhusker game.
What is better than seeing screaming fans with corn on their heads?
The 18th-ranked Nebraska will take on Washington in the Holiday Bowl and with a victory in the same bowl in 2009, the corn heads will be pumped for this one.
2. Oregon Ducks
9 of 10
The Oregon Ducks will be making their first appearance in a BCS National Championship game along with the Auburn Tigers.
LaMichael James and the Ducks will be ready for Auburn no matter what dreadful uniform they are wearing.

Along with Oregon, the Auburn Tigers also make their first trip to a BCS National Championship.
It is Auburn's turn in the state of Alabama as Heisman Trophy winning Cameron Newton will look to bring the title to Auburn for the first time since becoming the BCS National Championship.
