Top-Rated JUCO Star "Tank" Carradine Signs With Florida State Over Georgia
Arguably the top junior college player in the country, Cornelius "Tank" Carradine signed a national letter of intent to play football with Florida State on Wednesday, becoming the fourth 5-star prospect to join the Seminoles 2011 recruiting class.
Carradine has a great blend of physical skills and is an elite athlete. He has the speed to play outside linebacker and the size and strength to play defensive end in a 3-4 or a 4-3.
There is very little to not like about his game and the massive improvements he's made since leaving high school demonstrate just how high his ceiling might be.
Originally a member of Illinois' 2009 recruiting class, Carradine failed to qualify academically and was forced to play at Butler Community College for the last two seasons.
He now heads to Florida State polished and ready to contribute immediately. Carradine will be enrolling in the spring semester and should be available for spring practices.
He chose the Seminoles over Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State, all of which he had official visits scheduled with but will no longer be making.
Georgia was considered to be Carradine's second choice and many felt that the Bulldogs were at one point favored in the hunt to land the coveted JUCO prospect.
Nevertheless, it's Florida State who gets its man and continues a dominant close to the 2011 recruiting season.
On Wednesday, the Seminoles also received a commitment from 4-star offensive guard Jacob Fahrenkrug. This comes after getting commitments from 5-star defensive end Aaron Lynch and 4-star offensive tackle Jordan Prestwood in November.
Florida State has by far the top recruiting class in the ACC and is closing in on Ohio State and Alabama for a top-three overall 2011 class behind the giant that is the Texas Longhorns.
