College Football: Newton's NFL Draft Entry Almost Certain
If Cam Newton's decision of whether or not he will play any game beyond the BCS Championship hasn't already been made, other factors are stacking up that would make his entry into the NFL Draft almost certain.
The following are the most obvious reasons why Newton will only play one more game in his college football career:
NCAA Eligibility
1 of 6
As much as Newton has been able to sidestep or run over would-be tacklers all season, his evading eligibility issues has been equally impressive.
Throughout the season, as the story behind his recruitment has unfolded, Newton has had to see on a weekly basis if he was going to be allowed to play in future NCAA games.
While the NCAA has deemed him eligible for the remainder of the season, he is most likely going to choose to enter the NFL Draft, bypassing all such matters for good.
Heisman Trophy Award

Cam Newton has been named this year's Heisman Trophy Award winner.
Many wondered whether or not the season-long controversy that has followed Newton would impact his ability to garner this coveted award.
To be eligible for the Heisman, a player must be in good standing with the NCAA.
This past Saturday, Newton captured college football's biggest individual award in a landslide vote with 729 first-place votes. The second place vote-getter, Andrew Luck, received 78 first place votes.
With this prize in hand, Newton will forego an attempt to win it a second time, and he will enter the NFL draft.
Quarterback Records
3 of 6
Cam Newton has shattered numerous records during the 2010-11 season.
Newton has 1,409 rushing yards and has long since broken the SEC single-season record for rushing yards by a quarterback. Auburn's Jimmy Sidle had been the only SEC QB to reach 1,000 yards by running for 1,006 in 1963, when he was the nation's second-leading rusher.
Newton is known first for his running ability.
However, Newton has a passing efficiency rating of 188.2, which, if he can maintain this through the game against Oregon, would break the NCAA FBS record (for players with at least 15 passes per game).
Currently, Hawaii QB Colt Brennan's186.0 rating, set in 2006, sets the standard.
Because of his record breaking season, Newton will enter the 2011 NFL Draft.
BCS Championship Game
4 of 6
The BCS Championship game is the pinnacle of the college football season.
Auburn, by winning their SEC title game, have been invited to play in the upcoming National title game in Glendale, Arizona in the first week in January.
While the outcome of the game will be determined on the University of Phoenix field, Newton's participation in this game is one more milestone for this young QB.
Shortly after playing in the BCS Championship game, regardless of the results, Newton will announce his intention to enter the NFL draft.
Offensive Line Graduation

Lee Ziemba, Brandon Mosley, Mike Berry, Byron Isom, Ryan Pugh.
Names you haven't heard much about this season, but these are the important individuals who make up the Auburn Tigers Offensive Line.
Out of the starting five interior linemen, only Mosley, a junior, will be able to return next year. All the rest are seniors.
As good as Newton is, he is very fortunate to have arrived at Auburn at a time when this experienced unit was at its best to open holes and give him protection.
Rather than breaking in a new Offensive Line, Newton will enter the NFL Draft and begin to work behind another unit on Sundays.
Offensive Coordinator's Departure

Cam Newton and Auburn Offensive Coordinator Gus Malzahn are a match in college football heaven.
Stewart Mandel of SI.com has said that Malzahn is "one of the sport's most innovative offensive minds, not just in the college ranks, but in all of football."
Malzahn arrived at Auburn one year ahead of Cam Newton. Upon Newton's coming, Malzahn devised a customized offense to capitalize on Newton's size, speed and ability.
Malzahn is reportedly going to be named the Head Coach at Vanderbilt in the very near future.
With Malzahn gone, Newton will enter the NFL Draft.
