Bowl Schedule: Let's Go Bowling and Predict Every BCS Bowl Game
An exciting part of year is here. It's holiday season, people get to stay home, go home and see there families. It's a time to eat, celebrate, socialize and most importantly watch some good football.
The BCS bowls start on January 1st with the Rose bowl and Fiesta bowl. Then on January 3rd the Orange bowl happens and the next day is the Fiesta bowl.
Then the big daddy of them all, the National Championship on January 10th.
Rose Bowl: TCU Horned Frogs Vs. Wisconsin Badgers
1 of 5
This is a very interesting match up between TCU and Wisconsin. TCU is a non-aq team that went undefeated this year and ended up getting an invite to the Rose bowl. Wisconsin is a representing the Big 10 and has a record of 11-1.
TCU didn't exactly have the hardest schedule but did blow out most opponents. Quarterback Andy Dalton is a very good player that has 31 career wins as the starting quarterback. TCU also has a great defense that has only allowed 11 points per game this year.
Wisconsin had a pretty tough schedule against Big 10 teams with there only loss coming against Michigan State. After that loss Wisconsin really picked it up, scoring 30 points or more in the rest of there games and scoring 70 and 83 in wins over opponents that weren't cupcake teams.
Going into the game we have two high powered offenses and two very solid defenses facing off against each other.
My prediction for the game Wisconsin 31 TCU 17
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma Sooners Vs. Connecticut Huskies
2 of 5
People are asking why did a Big East team get an automatic bid to a BCS bowl. It is a very legitimate question but still don't count out Connecticut.
Oklahoma who is led by quarterback Landry Jones has had a hard time in BCS bowls losing 5 straight. The Fiesta bowl has been even tougher losing two straight against West Virginia and Boise State.
The Sooners have a very solid run game with Demarco Murray running the ball and there defense is also very good.
The Connecticut Huskies are big underdogs in this one according to the spread. But the Huskies have a very solid run game and could surprise many people with there defense.
Watch out for running back Jordon Todman who has rushed for over 1500 yards and averages over 5 yards per carry.
I see Oklahoma winning this game but watch for some fight out the Huskies final score being: Sooners 24 Huskies 14.
Orange Bowl: Stanford Cardinal Vs. Virginia Tech Hokies
3 of 5
After a disappointing first two games the Virginia Tech Hokies looked as if they were going to be maybe a .500 team this year. But after stepping it up and winning 11 straight quarterback Tyrod Taylor looks to lead his teammates to a win over the Stanford Cardinal.
The Hokies are average an outstanding 209 rushing yards per game and have a solid passing game. There defense is also very good and can hopefully stop maybe the best quarterback in the nation Andrew Luck.
Stanford has had a very good season only losing 1 game against Oregon. They have a good defense that only allows 18 points per game while there offense scores 40 per game.
I think Stanford wins this game because of how much the offense can wear a defense down with there running and passing game. They are always producing long methodical drives that can take as long as 9 minutes.
My guess Stanford Cardinal 35 Virginia Tech Hokies 24
Sugar Bowl: Arkansas Razorbacks Vs. Ohio State Buckeyes
4 of 5
When I first saw this match up I thought to myself how great this game could be. With two great quarterbacks Terrell Pryor and Ryan Mallett this is bound to be a really exciting match up.
Both teams can score a lot of points and can be entertaining to watch. Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor is a quarterback who can run and pass and will be very fun to watch. Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett is a gunslinger type of quarterback being able to throw the ball anywhere on the field.
Ohio States defense is very good and Arkansas is decent but I still see this as more of an offensive shoot out with both of these dynamic quarterbacks.
My prediction for a great game Ohio State Buckeyes 35 Arkansas Razorbacks 31.
BCS National Championship Game: Oregon Ducks Vs. Auburn Tigers
5 of 5
How excited are you for this game? I know I am.
Maybe the two best offensive teams in college football square off in the National Championship game on January 10th. With speed and strength all over the field this will be an exciting one to watch.
Auburn is led by quarterback Cam Newton who had a break out season after being excelled from Florida and then playing at a community college last year. Newton is a dynamic player who has scored 48 total touchdowns this year more than many division 1 programs alone.
Oregon has a great running back in Lamichael James who rushed for over 1,600 yards this year and scored 22 total touchdowns.
Both defenses are questionable but they can both make plays that could turn the game around. Specials teams for both teams are also very fast and could make big plays.
But most points will come from both offenses with Newton and James leading the way.
A big question for Oregon is Darren Thomas going to be able to pass effectively in the game because of the solid run defense of Auburn.
I don't see Thomas doing that great and Auburn winning a very exciting game that could produce 100 total points.
My prediction: Auburn Tigers 45 Oregon Ducks 38
