College Football Pick'em: The 10 Best Games of Week 2

Week One of the college football season is in the books.  It opened in the typical fashion with upsets, blowouts and close games. 

Games that go this way can have an adverse effect on your picks.  On the young season, I have a record of 7-3, which is a pretty good start. 

Will the second week of the season live up to the excitement of the first?  There aren’t as many big-time matchups this week, but there are some very interesting games.  Here are the picks for the 10 best games of Week Two.

Miami (FL) at No. 5 Florida

Winner: Florida. The Hurricanes are trying to return to the ways of old in Miami, but it won’t happen this week.  All that can be said about this game is, get ready to get Tebowed. *Game of the Week*

No. 12 Texas Tech at Nevada

Winner: Texas Tech. If you love offense, then this is the game you want to watch.  Both teams will put up a ton of points with a quickness.  Tech’s two Heisman hopefuls will be the difference in this game.  *Co-Game of the Week*

No. 24 South Carolina at Vanderbilt

Winner: South Carolina. In this early-season SEC game, the Gamecocks use the defensive momentum from last week to get past Vandy on a Thursday night in Nasvegas.

Miami (OH) at Michigan

Winner: Michigan. The Wolverines get their first win under Rich Rodriguez. It won’t be a pretty win, because the Redhawks will give them all they can handle.

No. 15 BYU at Washington

Winner: BYU. Potential BCS party crashers take it over a lower-tier Pac-10 team.  It may not even be close.

Cincinnati at No. 4 Oklahoma

Winner: Oklahoma. The Bearcats have a pretty good defense; too bad it won’t be enough to take down an offensive juggernaut like the Sooners.

Oregon State at No. 19 Penn State

Winner: Penn State. The fighting JoPa’s save the Big Ten a little face by beating the Beavers.

Mississippi at No. 20 Wake Forest

Winner: Wake Forest, don’t sleep on Ole Miss. They’re better than you think, just not this week.  They keep it close, but the Demon Deacons pull it out in the end.

No. 8 West Virginia at East Carolina

Winner: WV. Upset special?  Not this time. WV is on a different level than Va. Tech.  Pat White will have another great aerial performance.

Stanford at No. 15 Arizona State

Winner: Arizona State. Stanford looked good in the opener and still will this week.  ASU wins, but it will be closer than you think.
