NBA 2010: Simple Steps the Cavs Must Do To Get Some of their Pride Back
Yes, Cavaliers fans, I know it hurts to see this picture, but it's the reality of what LeBron James thinks of you guys.
The Cavaliers have already defied preseason expectations that they would be the worst team in the NBA. Dan Gilbert thinks that the Cavaliers (post-LeBron) will win a championship before James does.
It is already inevitable that the Cavaliers will be major players during the NBA's trade deadline, possibly shipping Mo Williams or Antawn Jamison to start with a fresh slate perfect for rebuilding.
Right now, head coach Byron Scott needs to find a stable starting five and stay with that lineup. If nothing is working, the Cavs will definitely need to test the trade market. Antawn is reliving his career in Washington right now, and not getting the starting nod with the record the Cavs have is just going to put him over the edge. Jamario never adapted to a Princeton-style offense, and the Cavaliers defense needs to play with a little more effort.
However, the biggest problem with the Cavs to this point is execution and finishing games. I can see this team following the same footsteps as the 2007-08 Toronto team. Especially last Thursday against Miami, the Cavaliers were throwing up shots early in the shot clock. Whether it was Boobie or Mo, the Cavaliers time management was extremely poor.
A lot needs to be done and it will be an interesting season for Cavs fans come January/Febuary.
Decide If They Want To Go After Iggy or Not

I like Igoudala, but I’m not sure how this would work. I know the Cavs have a trade exception, but if I were the Cavs, I wouldn’t want to trade Varejao or Hickson. Any other player ought to be fair game, though.
I see Iggy as a very strong supporting player to a star on a championship team, like Manu Ginobili for the Spurs, but with greater impact. Yeah, he costs a lot, but even to get an excellent supporting piece, outside of the draft, you have to pay a fortune.
But is that fortune a little over the budget?
Although if you look at some of the other veteran players in the league who are past their rookie contracts, you have to ask yourself, how many of these guys truly are a better value than Iguodala, or at least as good?
Not many I can see.
Then factor in the guys who only play SG/SF who may be a better value than Iggy. I haven’t looked through every roster, but I have looked through enough to tell that there may only be a handful of players at most who fit what the Cavs need, would be solid additions and a better value.
This will and should be a major move for the Cavs front office to contemplate.
Acknowledge Mo Williams For Dissing LeBron James
2 of 4Nice to know that Mo Williams has some pride.
After he claimed to have been close to announcing his retirement from the NBA after LeBron left Cleveland, it looked like Williams was a part of the King James fanboy club himself. Although before the game against LeBron in Cleveland, Williams gave LeBron the cold shoulder as he tried to approach Williams with conversation.
Give this guy a medal or something, because his expression told LeBron something the whole city of Cleveland wanted to say to him.
Mo made Cleveland proud.
Acknowledge this Assistant Coach
3 of 4I'm unaware of this coach, but this guy is serious. In my book, anything that makes a man say, "Shut the f**k up, b***h," should never have been uttered in the first place.
Sure do wish I knew what LeBron was saying to J.J. Hickson, though. LeBron has no class trying to talk to the Cavaliers bench while playing the game. It was embarrassing for the Cavaliers organization as a whole, and I'm surprised there was no talk to the team about this from Gilbert or Coach Scott.
Also, I am disappointed with Hickson having a laugh with LeBron while the Cavs were getting smashed.
Realize that Brighter Days Are Ahead

Thanks to the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers will definitely see better things happen to this organization, whether it's through trade, free agency or draft.
There is a new kid on the block who the Cleveland Cavaliers might go after in this year's NBA draft that some call the next LeBron:
Harrison Barnes.
But if the Cavs don't want to be patient and want to win as soon as possible, then they will have to gear up some players and make some trades with impact.
Sorry, Cleveland, LeBron WILL NOT change his ego, and will continue to be a jerk whenever he comes to town just to make fans mad. Many teams have gone through this phase, and some are still in the phase of rebuilding the organization.
Hopefully the Cavs don't end up like the Timberwolves and remain a lottery team for the past four years.
