College Football Recruiting 2011: Odds for Whom Jadeveon Clowney Will Sign With
The No. 1 overall recruit in the country, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, has been recruited as heavily as any prospect from the 2011 class.
At 6'5", 225 lbs, Clowney is an athletic freak and a playmaker in every sense of the word.
He gets into the backfield in a hurry, has great natural pass-rushing instincts and can chase down ball carriers with his tremendous speed. No matter where the ball goes, or where Clowney lines up, he can make something happen.
We'll take a closer look at his recruitment and give you the odds of Clowney signing with all of his current suitors.
Ohio State

Ohio State is on the cusp of relevancy in this one as Clowney has not scheduled a visit with the Buckeyes. A recent interview with Scout.com hadn't made mention of Clowney's interest in signing with Ohio State.
"[Ohio State is] pretty good, got a nice offense going on with Terrell Pryor," Clowney said when asked what he liked about the Buckeyes.
Odds to sign Clowney: Very Low
Florida State

When it comes to FSU, the appeal of recruits seems to be unanimous. As Clowney put it, "they put a lot of players in the NFL."
That's been the main draw of the Seminoles for years, and considering FSU already has commitments from 5-star prospects James Wilder, Karlos Williams and Aaron Lynch, the addition of Clowney could make for a scary mix.
He doesn't have an official visit set yet, but does plan to make a trip out to Tallahassee after his season is over.
Odds to sign Clowney: Low
LSU
3 of 5
LSU, along with FSU, are the two dark horses in this race as both schools came into the equation late and appear to be gaining steam.
Clowney will be visiting Baton Rouge sometime in January, though no exact date has been set yet. With the Tigers having a strong year on the field, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities for Clowney to make the surprise pick.
"They're a work in progress this year. They're playing pretty well," Clowney said about LSU.
Odds to sign Clowney: Low
Alabama
4 of 5
Alabama and South Carolina have long been the real contenders in this race, and after Clowney's recent comments concerning the Crimson Tide, you have to think Alabama has drawn even with the Gamecocks in this one.
"[Alabama is] young, they need some pass rushing. They get some pass rushing and they'll do good. That's where I come in at, help the team pass rush and make big plays. So I think they'll be alright," said Clowney.
Coach Nick Saban will be visiting Clowney at his home on Tuesday and an official visit to Alabama is set for sometime in January.
Odds to sign Clowney: High
South Carolina

With Clowney hailing from Rock Hill, South Carolina, it's no secret that the in-state team has the inside track in this one.
The Gamecocks have long had a strong pipeline into Rock Hill, especially at Clowney's South Pointe high school. Add in the fact that South Carolina is having a very strong season and beat Alabama with Clowney in attendance, and things are looking good for the Gamecocks.
"That's the home state," said Clowney, "and they're playing good. I think this is the best season they've ever had."
