Tom Brady and the Eight Most GQ Athletes
There are athletes that are loved and hated by fans all around. Male fans often tend to hate the guys that get all the girls. These "GQ" athletes are also among the best in their sport oftentimes. But many of us just hate them because they always seem to get the girl.
Through the years, the model "GQ" athlete has changed. The first true"GQ" athlete was undoubtedly Joe DiMaggio. His being with Marilyn Monroe made him the envy of all men back in the 1950s. Joe D was truly an icon in his sport and in the eyes of every man. He was everyman so to speak. DiMaggio was a Yankee, he had rings, money, success and Marilyn Monroe. What more could a man ask for? Honestly.
Over time, as Joe D disappeared in the sports world, new faces started to take shape. The Joe Namaths of the world would soon become loved and hated. The concept has always remained the same though throughout. These men all had what so many others of their kind could only dream of.
Today, with money running rampant in sports, there are more "GQ" athletes than ever before. Hey, even the President of the United States of America can be on the cover of "GQ" nowadays. Here are some of the most "GQ" athletes we know.
8. Tim Tebow

Alright, well maybe not right now but he's getting back there. In Florida, Tim Tebow is a legend and will always be recognized as the greatest athlete to ever come out of Gainesville. This says a lot for a school that constantly produces great talent. Who wouldn't want to be Tebow?
He was literally a beast in college and now is just a few short steps away from becoming a factor in the NFL. Not to dislodge Kyle Orton, he's played great this year, but TT15 needs to get his chance.
Tebow had everything that any college kid could've wanted while at Florida. He still does to a certain extent. He's basically being paid a nice chunk of money to sit on the bench and wait his turn.
For the time being though, he will take the occasional snap. This will soon change as he will be taking a majority of the snaps in Denver before long.
Tebow's "perfect" image hasn't even plagued him during his short NFL career. What's not to like about this kid? He even had a great-looking girlfriend to boot. Not much of a surprise though, the Gator girls always impress.
7. David Beckham

David Beckham has it all. Dazzling soccer skills, the unique ability to "bend" a soccer ball on his free kicks and the love of many women across the world. Fortunately for his sake, too many women love him. Well, this kinda sucks for the rest of us, huh?
Beckham is also one of the best players in the world and has about $250 million from the Los Angeles Galaxy to show for it. Becks literally stole that money from the Galaxy and American soccer in general, but that's besides the point. This is just one of the many reasons that men could only dream of being David Beckham.
His wife Victoria was also successful as a Spice Girl, "Posh Spice" in fact. Aren't the Beckhams just a lovable bunch?
6. Alex Rodriguez

Don't you just hate A-Roid, oops, I meant A-Rod? Well, I definitely do and all men ought to. He's got an amazing track record of women to his credit and is the highest-paid baseball player in history. Not to mention he plays for the New York Yankees. He even took steroids and was absolved from his wrongdoing. In the eyes of too many people, A-Rod can do no wrong.
I wish I had his life. He's been one of the top baseball players over the past 15 years or so. Not to mention he's dated so many famous women along the way. Not quite as many as his teammate who we will see later in the list, but A-Rod hasn't done all that bad.
This former MVP is the toast of New York and now has a World Series to his credit. He has the credentials to get to Cooperstown, but the steroid usage could hamper him. Don't you miss that innocent youngster who played in Seattle a while back? I sure do, he used to be one of my favorite players.
The money got to his head and now he's a phony, but you can't deny him.

5. Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps is the man, plain and simple. Women love him and he can flat-out swim. He's been on the cover of "GQ' before so he has to make this list in some capacity.
He's Captain America with his unprecedented sixteen! Olympic medals. His drug use did him no good in his image, but fans still love him.
Though he only makes an impact every four years, he's a sensational athlete and was "GQ" Man of the Year in 2008.
Swimming can be pretty fun, even better when you can win loads of Gold Medals and be adored by women all over America. Nice job, Michael.
4. Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant has been around the block a few times. He now has five NBA Championships and every other credential that immortalizes an NBA star into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Bryant even has a fabulous-looking wife in Vanessa and a great family at home.
With his Denver incident in the rear-view mirror, Bryant now is carrying his fame to new heights. He will likely go down as the best NBA player of this generation and rightfully so. LeBron's great, and all but five rings speak for themselves in Kobe's case.
Though my hometown of Philadelphia hates the guy (he's even from here, well, Lower Merion, technically) it's hard to ignore him altogether. He's one of the most envied and marketable athletes of this generation.
3. Derek Jeter

Derek Jeter is the type of athlete that we love to hate. To New Yorkers, he's already been immortalized with legends of Yankee past. To the rest of the world, we wish we could be "the ultimate" guy. That's exactly what Derek Jeter is, like him or not.
Jeter is about as much of a "GQ" athlete as there is (obvious from his placement on the list). He's the undisputed leader of the New York Yankees, the most storied franchise in all of pro sports. He's one of the most envied men on the planet and is just an all-around good guy.
What famous female hasn't Jeter been linked to? In making a top 10 list of his hottest girlfriends, several could be left out. WOW! Derek Jeter, let me be the first to say, you my friend are a don.
Minka Kelly, his current beau, is one of the most beautiful women in the world. She can't compare to others that DJ's been linked to. Do Adriana Lima, Jessica Alba and Vanessa Minnillo mean anything to you? Yeah Derek, you're the man.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the abroad version of Jeter in many ways. He's been with just about every woman in the free world. Though these two are virtually identical, it's hard not to give Ronaldo a slight edge.
His money is abundant and his talent (when he's not crying) is among the best in the world. He's still very much so in his prime and has made loads of money throughout his young career. Real Madrid's star is one for the ages.

Tom Brady is just the uber male. We all have to admit how great he really is. There are none better than Terrific Tom when it comes to male athletes, or just males in general.
Brady is already in Canton in my book. He's got three Super Bowls and his 2007 season was the greatest ever for a QB.
Brady has Gisele Bunchden and the adoration of women and envy of all men. He's what many of us strive to be.
If it weren't for Drew Bledsoe's 2001 injury, no one would've ever know how great Brady truly was. Tom, you can thank Drew.
