Basketbrawl: 10 NBA Enforcers Who We Would Like to See in MMA
Shaq vs. Carwin, 'Sheed vs. Silva, Wallace vs. Jones.
Could you imagine what would happen if your favorite NBA bruisers were to make their way to the cage and try their hand at MMA? How would they fare?
Many players have the conceivable size, strength and straight-up guts to get in there and mix it up so B/R has a few interesting NBA tough guys that we'd love to see sprawl-n-brawl.
Derek Fisher
1 of 10
The co-leader of the championship Lakers team is a man that walks the line between perfect NBA gentleman and someone who will knock you on you butt if you get out of line.
Nate Robinson
2 of 10
Nate Robinson has incredible heart. He plays about two feet taller than he is and is tough as nails. I would love to see him duke it out with the lightweights.
Ben Wallace
3 of 10
Bringing down the power of 6'9" and 240 pounds of muscle to someone's jaw during a ground and pound session is enough to send anyone running for the hills.
Rasheed Wallace
4 of 10Good ol' Rasheed Wallace... you can always count on that guy to start a fight. Wallace is currently the NBA's all-time leader in technical fouls so he is no stranger to bending the rules. Can you imagine him getting into it with Herb Dean about his grabbing the fence to avoid takedowns? Priceless.
Dennis Rodman
5 of 10
Dennis Rodman was part of the legendary Pistons' Bad Boys. Rodman was always in peak physical condition, and would make a great Nick Diaz character.
Bill Laimbeer
6 of 10Bill Laimbeer, another part of the Pistons' Bad Boys teams from the 1980's was a rough and tumble type of player.
He took no crap and was always willing to dish it out and just loved getting under your skin.
He kind of reminds you of a much bigger Josh Koscheck.
Stephen Jackson
7 of 10
Stephen Jackson was another part of the 2004 Brawl at the Palace. With a quick fuse and even faster fists, Jackson would make a great opponent for Jon Jones.
Ron Artest
8 of 10Ron Artest, the name alone just screams crazy. Check the resume:
• The ’04 Brawl at the Palace.
• Spousal abuse that led to arrest.
• Anger management .
The dude just loves to fight and has a pretty decent right hand for you if you're a soda-chucking fan.
Charles Barkley
9 of 10
Pre-retirement Sir Charles is built like a slightly heavier Anderson Silva. Post-retirement, he's more like Roy Nelson.
Nevertheless, Barkley's got a mouth on him and isn't afraid to use it. Couple that with his ability to take on bigger opponents, and you've got yourself another Chael Sonnen on your hands.
Shaq
10 of 10Shaq is the ultimate enforcer. At 7'1" and over 300 pounds, he would have to cut down a bit to make the 265-pound heavyweight limit, but all-in-all he's a force to be reckoned with.
