BCS Rankings Week 13: 10 Teams That Could Rise the Most This Week

Tom KinslowNov 22, 2010

BCS rankings Week 13 are out and looking forward to this Saturday, there a lot of big games on the schedule and they could all shake up the the BCS and send some teams breaking into the standings or rising up from their current spot.

Inside I've given 10 teams that would rise with a big win this weekend. If you agree or disagree, make sure to leave it in the comments. Is there a team I missed? Make sure to point that out, too.

No. 10: Oregon State

Next Week: vs. Stanford

Oregon State has had a very up and down season but has the talent to hang with any team in the country and I think the Beavers could show up and give Stanford a run for its money. Oregon State just beat USC pretty handily and will have some momentum coming into this game.

It'll be interesting to see if the Beavers get caught looking ahead to the rivalry game with Oregon and we see the same team that lost to Washington State.

No. 9: Texas

Next Week: vs. Texas A&M

The Texas Longhorns have had a very down year after losing Colt McCoy and competing for a national championship. There's been signs of hope for Texas but it's clear that it's rebuilding time for the Longhorns. It happens to every program but it doesn't mean that Texas can't stun Texas A&M. The Longhorns would love nothing more than to upset the Aggies and ruin their late season surge.

Next Week: vs. NC State

This is a huge game in the ACC and NC State is trying to make ACC Championship game. With a win, the Wolfpack will reach the conference title game and knock Florida State out based on the head-to-head victory over the Seminoles earlier in the season.

The Terrapins aren't a pushover and if Maryland stuns the Wolfpack, it will be a huge win for the program.

Next Week: Boise State

This is one of the bigger games in the country and it pits Boise State and Nevada against each other. Who would have thought? The Wolfpack are better than people give them credit for and this is the last big test for Boise State.

The Wolfpack are in the BCS standings and would shoot up the BCS with a win against the Broncos.

No. 6: Arizona

5 of 10
TUCSON, AZ - OCTOBER 23: Quarterback Matt Scott #4 of the Arizona Wildcats throws a pass during the college football game against the Washington Huskies at Arizona Stadium on October 23, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. The Wildcats defeated the Huskies 44-14.

Next Week: Oregon

The Arizona Wildcats have been a team that has surprised a lot of the nation this year, starting with the win over Iowa earlier in the season. Arizona has been a tough team and now we'll find out how tough they are against the top-ranked Oregon Ducks.

If the Wildcats upset Oregon, it will shoot Arizona up the BCS and open the door for Boise State or TCU.

No. 5: Florida

Next Week: Florida State

The Florida Gators are another team that has struggled after experiencing a ton of success in recent years. A lot of talent left the Gators after last year and it has shown on the field. It's a rebuilding year for Florida and the fact that someone started a website to fire Urban Meyer is mind boggling.

Sure, that isn't indicative of the entire fan base, but it's embarrassing. Florida can beat Florida State and it would be a big win for the program to close out the regular season.

No. 4: Oklahoma

Next Week: Oklahoma State

Oklahoma at one point was in line to play for the national championship but now that's fallen by the wayside and the Sooners play rival Oklahoma State for the right to head to the Big 12 championship game and the chance to go to a BCS bowl game.

The win would be huge for the Sooners, who let a golden opportunity slip out of their hands earlier in the season.

No. 3: Arkansas

Next Week: LSU

Arkansas is right in the middle of the pack in the BCS but with a win over LSU this week, it will shoot up into the top 10 of the standings. Ryan Mallett and company can hang with any team in the country with that offense and with the way Les Miles coaches, there's no reason the Razorbacks can't get the win.

I think we're in for a wild one in that matchup.

No. 2: Boise State

BCS: 4

AP: 3

Coaches/USA Today: 3

Next Week: Nevada

This is the last big test for Boise State this year and with how close the Broncos are to TCU in the BCS standings, a win against the Woflpack will likely put Boise State above the Horned Frogs in the BCS and leave the Broncos in position to slide into the national championship game if Auburn or Oregon lose in front of them.

I think we're going to see a show from Kellen Moore and company and it'll put Boise State in a great position.

No. 1: Alabama

10 of 10
BATON ROUGE, LA - NOVEMBER 06: Mark Ingram #22 of the Alabama Crimson Tide tries to catch the ball near Patrick Peterson #7 of the Louisiana State University Tigers at Tiger Stadium on November 6, 2010 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Tigers defeated the

Next Week: Auburn

While Alabama has no shot of making the national championship game, they can ruin the season of Auburn this week in the annual Iron Bowl game. The Crimson Tide are a great team and it would be a great way to end a season that fell short of the hopes they had coming into the year.

It's going to be a great game and beating the second-ranked Tigers would be a huge resume win to send Alabama up the BCS standings.
