NFL Week 11 Picks: Predictions and Scores for Every Game
The story of Week 10 was Michael Vick and his unbelievable performance on Monday Night. Vick put up video game-like stats, scoring six total touchdowns, compiling 413 total yards. Vick has made the Eagles instant contenders, and his next task is a game Sunday Night against the Giants in a battle for first place of the NFC East.
Chicago Bears at Miami Dolphins
1 of 16
The first game of the week features the Bears "taking their talents to South Beach" to play the Dolphins. The Dolphins, at 4-4, will be without Chad Pennington for the rest of the season, and Chad Henne, at least for this game. That means Tyler Thigpen will draw the start, and he is going up against a scary Bears defense.
The Bears--criticize them all you want--are 6-3, and sitting in first place in the NFC North. They still have major problems on the offensive line, but as long as that defense continues to play well, the Bears will hang around.
I don't trust either of these teams, and the Dolphins are hurting on offense. I'm going with the Bears in this one as they improve to 7-3.
Fearless Forecast: Bears 17, Dolphins 13
Baltimore Ravens at Carolina Panthers
2 of 16
The nightmare season the Panthers are having keeps getting worse with Jimmy Clausen out with a concussion and Deangelo Williams out for the season.
Having said that, Clausen did not appear ready for the NFL in what we have seen of him, and now the Panthers are tuning to Brian St. Pierre, a bizarre choice that came out of nowhere.
His task is difficult, staring at a Ravens defense led by Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. The Ravens will blitz, and blitz often.
Luckily for the Ravens, their loss in Atlanta did not cost them too much as the Steelers got tripped up by the Patriots. If you have are in a survival football pool and you haven't picked the Ravens, then they are the team to pick. Ravens win this one easily.
Fearless Forecast: Ravens 27, Panthers 3
Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals
3 of 16
If you're an NFL fan, there is honestly nothing intriguing to this game. Both teams season is over and have nothing to play for.
However, this game promises to be an exciting one. You know why?
Gus Johnson is commentating. A week ago, the Gus Johnson Theory, which Bill Simmons coined, was in full effect when Mike Thomas reeled in a Hail Mary from David Garrard. I don't know what it is, but every game Gus seems to do, it's the best one of the day.
Now. more about the game itself. The only semi-intriguing thing about this game is Terrell Owens playing his former team, the Bills. Is that really a big rivalry? No, not at all in fact.
I'll go with the Bengals to snap their six-game losing streak.
Fearless Forecast: Bengals 23, Bills 20
Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys
4 of 16
Similar to the Bills-Bengals game, this is another game with no implications whatsoever. Both teams are hurting on offense, especially at the quarterback spot.
At 2-7, both of these teams are out of playoff contention, but not if you ask Terrence Newman.
Last week, the Cowboys finally showed some signs of life when they beat the Giants in New Jersey. Jason Garrett seemed as though he inspired them, and they played that way.
The Lions had a chance to tie the game in Buffalo, but Shaun Hill threw the two-point conversion away, and I still don't know what he was thinking.
This game has the potential to be a shoot-out, and regardless, I like the Cowboys' chances.
Fearless Forecast: Cowboys 27, Lions 14
Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars
5 of 16
Believe it or not, if the Jaguars win this game, they will be at 6-4.
Haven't we seen this before? Last season the Jags were 6-4, before finishing their 7-9. Is this Jags team different?
Last week, it took a Hail Mary to get past the Texans, and Mike Thomas is a hero in Jacksonville. Jack Del Rio is saving his job, but can his team make the playoffs?
It won't be easy against the Browns, who were oh-so-close to winning their third straight game. Colt McCoy has been impressive, beating the likes of Drew Brees and Tom Brady. Not a bad start to his career, wouldn't you say?
I'm going with the Jaguars here, as they continue to tease everyone that they are for real.
Fearless Forecast: Jaguars 24, Browns 17
Arizona Cardinals at Kansas City Chiefs
6 of 16
After a 5-2 start, the Chiefs are coming back to earth. Having lost their last two games, including last week's 49-28 loss in Denver, the Chiefs are on the verge of collapsing. Luckily for them, the Cardinals are coming to town, a game the Chiefs should win.
I'm still not sold on Todd Haley as a coach. I can't even count how many times he has gone for it on 4th-and-short yardage instead of taking three points.
With a young and unproven team in the Chiefs, you take the points.
For the Cardinals, they continue to have major quarterback troubles, and I get the feeling it will be a constant flip flop between Derek Anderson and Max Hall.
Does it matter?
Fearless Forecast: Chiefs 27, Cardinals 13
Washington Redskins at Tennessee Titans
7 of 16
In his debut with the Titans, Randy Moss was a non-factor, catching just one pass for 26 yards. Clearly, this isn't the same player we've seen in years past.
The Hall of Fame wide receiver has lost a step, and if this was the same player, he wouldn't be on his third team of the season.
I do hope I'm wrong about this, and that Moss can still be a factor, and I have confidence he can indeed be. He still requires double or triple coverage, but should he still be?
What a disaster it has been for the Redskins the past few weeks.
First, they pull Donovan McNabb in favor of Rex Grossman in a winnable game, then McNabb gets ripped by both Mike and Kyle Shanahan before getting locked up to a five-year extension.
Wait, what? After saying McNabb is not the right quarterback for this offense, and criticizing his stamina, Daniel Snyder signs him to a new contract.
If you thought the madness was gone, oh how wrong you were. The Redskins got embarrassed 59-28 on Monday Night Football, letting Michael Vick do whatever he wanted to on offense.
The Redskins are struggling badly right now, and they will continue to do so here.
Fearless Forecast: Titans 23, Redskins 14
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings
8 of 16
At 3-6, the Vikings' playoff chances are getting slimmer and slimmer, and Brett Favre doesn't have that many more meaningful games in him.
This game against the Packers will be one of the last meaningful games Favre will play. After losing a close one in Green Bay earlier in the season, it's time for Act II of Aaron Rodgers vs. Brett Favre.
The Packers come into this game at 6-3 and are coming alive on both offense and defense. They are overcoming all their injuries and rallying around them. A loss here for the Vikings, and their season is over.
Every time Favre has faced his former team, he has played well, and I don't expect anything less this time around. He isn't the same player as last season, but he still has some magic in him.
I like the Packers here in a close one as Rodgers evens the series 2-2 with Favre
Fearless Forecast: Packers 30, Vikings 23
Houston Texans at New York Jets
9 of 16
Earlier in the season, this match-up looked like it would be a good one between two of the AFC's best. The Jets have been impressive, but the Texans are the same old Texans, struggling to find an identity.
How do they recover from last week's heart-breaker? They can only wonder what would have happened if they intercepted that pass instead of tipping it right into the arms of Mike Thomas.
I don't see them winning this game either.
The Jets have won ugly the past two weeks, but they are winning close games, which is key. You have to give Mark Sanchez credit for the way he has played. He is definitely maturing.
The Jets win it, while the Texans fall to 4-6.
Fearless Forecast: Jets 16, Texans 13.
Oakland Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers
10 of 16
Out of all the day games this week, this is the one I am most interested in.
The Raiders come into this game red-hot, having won three games in a row. They are sitting at first place in the AFC West.
In the next two weeks, we will learn a lot more about this Raiders team with big road tests against Pittsburgh and San Diego.
The Steelers will come into this game focused, and their defense will show up unlike last week, when Tom Brady converted on four touchdowns.
I'm very interested to see how the Raiders handle themselves in this one. If they want to be taken for real, a win in Pittsburgh would do the trick.
I like the Steelers in a bounce-back game.
Fearless Forecast: Steelers 20, Raiders 13
Atlanta Falcons at St.Louis Rams
11 of 16
After their big win against the Ravens last week, many have anointed the Falcons as the team to beat in the NFC. And why not?
With an offense as explosive as theirs, and a wide open NFC, the Falcons may just be the best team in the conference.
They need to be careful in this game though, as the Rams are a tough team, especially at home where they are undefeated.
Sam Bradford has been better than anyone expected at this point in his career, and the Rams have a legitimate shot at winning their division.
The Rams will be a trendy upset pick in this game, and don't be surprised if they steal it.
I think the Falcons are too hot right now, and too much for the Rams.
Fearless Forecast: Falcons 26, Rams 17
Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans Saints
12 of 16
This week, Reggie Bush returns from injury to a Saints offense that is finding its rhythm and could use Bush badly.
The Saints' goal right now is to win the NFC South, and this year they have some major competition with the Falcons emerging. Don't forget about the Saints.
I cannot see the Seahawks winning this game, given their history of road woes and the Saints coming off a bye week well rested. The Seahawks are one of the most up-and-down teams in the NFL, and this will be a down week.
Who Dat?!?
Fearless Forecast: Saints 34, Seahawks 17.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at San Francisco 49ers
13 of 16
How many more wins would the 49ers have if Troy Smith had been starting the whole season?
Amazingly, at 3-6, the 49ers are just two games out of first place in the NFC West, but the problem is they can't afford many more losses. The Bucs are a tough team.
Raheem Morris has been the coach of the year thus far, and Josh Freeman has been one of the biggest surprises of the season. He has four comeback wins this season, and with the game on the line, you now expect him to come through.
This isn't an easy game for the Bucs, and I think they'll get tripped up here. I'll go with the 49ers as Troy Smith improves to 3-0 as a starter for them.
Fearless Forecast: 49ers 20, Buccaneers 17
Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots
14 of 16
Every year one of the best games of the season is the match up of the Patriots and Colts, Brady vs Manning. Last year, it was the Colts who escaped thanks to Bill Belichick's infamous decision to go for it on 4th-and-1 in the Patriots' own end zone.
I like the Patriots in this game. Tom Brady seems to be on a mission this season, and it was exemplified last week in Pittsburgh.
On the other hand, Peyton Manning continues to find play makers on offense, it doesn't matter who is out there.
The Colts are banged up, and the Patriots want revenge.
Fearless Forecast: Patriots 31, Colts 24
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
15 of 16
Can anybody stop Michael Vick? Certainly the Redskins couldn't.
Vick appears to be on a mission right now, and looks possessed. He has zero turnovers since taking over as the Eagles quarterback, and has changed dramatically as a player.
No longer is simply a threat to run, his arm has become just as lethal as his legs.
The Giants will play better than last week when they had a let down against the Cowboys. Their defense, which looked so good all year long, hit a bit of a speed bump.
The Eagles are too much right now on offense, and the Giants' only chance is to contain Vick.
Good luck with that.
Fearless Forecast: Eagles 27, Giants 17
Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers
16 of 16
The Chargers got off to a slow start this season, as they always do. But, at 4-5, they are a game out of the AFC West lead and get the Broncos on Monday Night Football to get back to .500.
The Broncos offense exploded last week in a 49-28 win over the Chiefs. Don't expect similar results against the Chargers. They are well-rested, and are slowly getting weapons back from injury.
Phillip Rivers will continue his MVP year, and the Chargers will dominate.
Fearless Forecast: Chargers 37, Broncos 17
