College Football Week 11

Jeff WNov 12, 2010

Well, last week we went 3-3, including our Upset and Game Nobody Cares About picks. Oregon was impressive against a pretty bad Washington team, while Auburn took care of business against UT-Chattanooga.

Here is a look at the BCS Top 10, as well as the Games of the Week:

1. Oregon- So far, the most impressive team in the nation. Few more tough matchups.
2. Auburn- Cam Newton punched me in the face for no reason. But really, too bad all of these controversies are surrounding this team.
3. TCU- Wow, dominated Utah last week.
4. Boise State- Don’t forget about us. No chance of playing in the Championship without a loss by Oregon and/or Auburn/TCU.
5. LSU- Les Miles is crazy, but his team keeps winning.
6. Stanford- Only loss was to No. 1 Oregon.
7. Wisconsin- Big 10′s best team.
8. Nebraska- Tough win last week. How bad is that Texas loss now?
9. Ohio State- Still have Penn State, Iowa and Michigan.
10. Oklahoma State- Fun team to watch, get lowly Longhorns this week.

Georgia @ No. 2 Auburn

The Bulldogs have had a very disappointing season, but some of that could be made right with a win over Auburn. Needless to say, Auburn is dealing with big time distractions regarding their Heisman candidate QB Cam Newton.

While the distractions may play a slight factor in the game, it would take a lot of money for Georgia to get the win. Does that even make sense?

My Pick: Auburn 38, Georgia 23

Penn State @ No. 9 Ohio State

JWSB’s pick to win it all, Ohio State is trying to finish its season on a strong winning streak. It will be tough, with Penn State, Iowa and Michigan still on the schedule.

Terrelle Pryor has had a pretty strong season, but would do a lot for his image by pulling off three straight Big 10 wins.

Penn State helped JoePa get his 400th victory last week, and will try to get 401 in the Horseshoe. He may have to wait one more week.

My Pick: Ohio State 29, Penn State 20

No. 25 Texas A&M @ Baylor

After moving up in the rankings for two straight weeks, Baylor looked pretty bad against a good Oklahoma State team last week. They will try to bounce back against a new-look Aggie team.

Ryan Tannehill got his first start at QB for the Aggies two weeks ago, and has responded with two wins, including last week over Oklahoma. The key to this game will be the Aggie defense vs. the Baylor offense.

If Robert Griffin isn’t able to make plays with his feet, look for A&M to come away with a big road win.

My Pick: Baylor 38, Texas A&M 35

No. 19 Mississippi State @ No. 12 Alabama

The Crimson Tide were considered the best one-loss team in the nation before last week's loss to LSU. Now, I guess they are the best two-loss team in the nation. It seems like they have forgotten how to use their two stud RBs, Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson.

If the Bulldog defense can keep those two under wraps, they have a chance to win this one on the road. Mississippi State is having one of its best seasons ever under 2nd year coach Dan Mullen.

If they can pull off the upset in Tuscaloosa, it would be one of their biggest wins in school history.

My Pick: Alabama 31 Mississippi State 23

No. 1 Oregon @ Cal

I would be really surprised if Oregon loses this game. Cal has been up and down all season, but playing at home usually means good things for the Golden Bears.

Look for this one to be close early, with the overpowering Ducks winning big.

My Pick: Oregon 42, Cal 27

Upset Pick of the Week: North Carolina 29, No. 20 Virginia Tech 27

Game Nobody Cares About: North Dakota State 40, South Dakota State 20
