College Football Picks Week 11: 5 Upsets You Won't See Coming
College football season is in full swing and everyone has been wondering who is going to end up No. 1 in the polls.
This season in college football has been one of the most unpredictable years in recent memory, featuring championship-favorite Alabama suffering two losses already and Auburn undefeated so far, despite allegations of recruiting violations.
As we roll along on Week 11, we will see more upsets, so here are 10 upsets that you might not see coming.
No. 13 Iowa Vs. Northwestern
1 of 10
Iowa has been knocking down opponents left and right this season, including a victory against the undefeated Michigan State Spartans earlier this season. The Hawkeyes come in looking to stay atop the Big Ten standing as they face the Northwestern Wildcats.
Northwestern hasn't been playing too badly themselves as of late. Featuring a record of 6-3 they are coming off a tough loss to Penn State. They are led by quarterback Dan Persa who has passed for 2,263 yards and 13 touchdowns, only having three interceptions.
Why Northwestern Will Win
2 of 10
Northwestern is led by one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. They will be able to score a huge victory this weekend as they attempt pass all over the Hawkeyes highly touted-defense. Although it will be tough, they will have enough to defeat the Hawkeyes in what surely will be a classic Big Ten match-up.
Notre Dame Vs. No. 14 Utah
3 of 10
The fighting Irish have been struggling as of late and have had many off-the-feild issues, including the tragic death of Declan Sullivan. Head coach Brian Kelly has been on the hot seat since that happened and is looking for a big win.
The Utes are coming off a big-time loss to TCU, but I think they will still have a hangover from the loss when they travel to South Bend.
Expect the Irish to win this one at home to get Kelly off the hot seat.
Why Notre Dame Will Win
4 of 10
Notre Dame will be fighting to get their coach off the hot seat in this game. After Utah's big loss to TCU, they will just give up all hope on the season, allowing the Fighting Irish to get in and steal the show this weekend.
Penn State Vs. No. 9 Ohio State
5 of 10
These two Big Ten Rivals will clash as Ohio State looks to further their hopes at a Big Ten title and possible BCS berth.
Penn State has been down so far this season with a record of 6-3. They are ranked 28th in points against them in the nation and have struggled offensively this season.
They are coming off an emotional win with Joe Paterno's 400th, but they are looking to down the Buckeyes hopes at a Big Ten title.
Ohio State is led by Terrelle Pryor who has passed for 1,997 yards and 20 touchdowns with only seven interceptions so far.
Why Penn State Will Win
6 of 10
Penn State is coming off an impressive victory over Northwestern last week. They are rolling into this game with a lot of momentum, and expect them to continue when they face the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes will overlook the Nittany Lions and that will be there downfall. Penn State's defense will be able to limit they Buckeye's passing attack and will be able to slow down Terrell Pryor.
Expect Penn State to grab this one.
No. 24 Kansas State Vs. No. 17 Missouri
7 of 10
Kansas State comes into this matchup hoping to pull off an upset that will be a great boost as they go on till the rest of the season.
They have a record of 6-3 and are led by a great offense in what will surely be a high scoring affair.
Missouri comes in with a record of 7-2 and is also led by a high powered offense that is one of the best in the nation passing wise.
This game will be very high scoring.
Why Kansas State Will Win
8 of 10
Kansas State is coming in with a lot of momentum after destroying a downed Texas team. As for Missouri, they are in somewhat of a slump this right now coming off a loss to Texas Tech.
Look for Kansas State to come out and win this one in impressive fashion.
No.10 Oklahoma State Vs. Texas
9 of 10
This one may be going out on a limb, but I think it's going to be a great game to watch. Texas, although down this season, is one of the most bipolar teams in the nation this year.
Oklahoma State comes in with one of the best passing attacks in the nation. They have thrown on opponents all season, and expect them to continue doing so in this one.
Although they will be throwing, Coach Brown will have Texas fired up in this one.
Why Texas Will Win
10 of 10
Although they are down this season, I expect the Longhorns to win this game, or at least make it close. They always play well in big games and this one will be no exception.
Expect the Longhorns to come out firing and throw everything at this one, including trick plays, to try to win this game.
