Gareth Bale Runs Riot as Tottenham Hotspur Rout Inter Milan
Gareth Bale once again solidified his role as the world’s best left-winger by running riot on Tuesday night at White Hart Lane.
The stars aligned for Spurs on this European night. With Brazil international Julio Cesar out of goal for Inter, Tottenham’s attack was poised to exploit the Inter back line.
Bale once again led the charge after his second half hat-trick at the San Siro last month. Tonight, he humiliated Maicon, the Brazil international who is arguably the best right back in the world, to the point that the Tottenham supporters were chanting, “Taxi for Maicon!” before the final whistle blew.

Van der Vaart struck first as Tottenham completed their Group A takeover. Combining with Luka Modric, van der Vaart buried the shot in the back of the net, while continuing his fantastic home goal-scoring streak.
Things got worse from there for Rafa Benitez’s men. The elf-looking man (Gareth Bale) used his lightening quick pace to burn Maicon once again and lay a beautiful ball off to the giant (Peter Crouch) who capitalized with a sliding finish.
But give credit to Inter, or rather Eto’o. Two-time UEFA Champions League champion Samuel Eto’o struck back from 20 meters out in the 80th minute to bring Inter within a goal's reach of red-hot Tottenham.
But Inter failed to realize what they were up against. Bale once again was the hero as he burst down the field just before regular time expired. He crossed the ball perfectly to Pavlyuchenko who slotted in the go-ahead goal. White Hart Lane was rocking!
With Bale’s two scintillating showings against the holders (Inter), top clubs have shown tremendous interest in the young left-winger.
Now it is up to Tottenham to retain their prized possession, and it’s up to Bale to turn Tottenham into European Champions.
