Randy Moss: 10 Teams That Should Stay Away
Randy Moss was waived by the Minnesota Vikings just weeks after he was traded from the New England Patriots.
Moss managed to keep quiet over the past few seasons, winning with the Patriots and playing with a Hall of Fame quarterback in Tom Brady. But another Hall of Famer, Brett Favre, couldn't keep Moss happy, and now he's gone.
So taking into consideration Moss' knack for taking plays off and causing a stir in the locker room, here are 10 teams that should stay as far away from the troubled wide receiver as possible.
Green Bay Packers
1 of 11
The Packers have already beaten Moss once this season, and not to mention their wide receiving core is one of the best in the league.
Though some of their offensive weapons are missing (Jermichael Finley & Ryan Grant), Moss would surely make waves in Green Bay, the wrong ones.
Dallas Cowboys
2 of 11
The only thing worse than Moss' attitude right now would be his attitude playing with a 1-6 team.
The Cowboys have a promising future at wide receiver with players like Miles Austin and Dez Bryant. Moss wouldn't be a great fit in Dallas, remember T.O.?
Indianapolis Colts
3 of 11
This one might make more sense than any other. Peyton Manning has proved time and time again that it doesn't matter who is running the routes in Indianapolis.
The Colts are another team with a young receiving core and a quiet locker room. Moss would surely be an odd fit for Jim Caldwell and company.
Cincinnati Bengals
4 of 11
The Bengals already have two no. 1 receivers and another would turn Cincinnati into a circus. T.O. and Chad Ochocinco have been quiet so far but add in Randy Moss and a 2-5 record and things are sure to explode.
The Bengals might want to hide until Moss signs with someone else, this could get ugly.
New Orleans Saints
5 of 11
Drew Brees is arguably the league's most accurate passer and Moss doesn't fit into that. Moss has made a name for himself by running fly routes and catching jump balls.
The receivers that call New Orleans home, like Lance Moore, Marques Colston, Jeremy Shockey, and David Thomas, are a perfect fit for the Saints quick strike offense built on accurate throws from Brees. No Moss, no problems.
Baltimore Ravens
6 of 11
The Ravens made a huge splash in the off-season pool this summer when they traded for Anquan Boldin. Throw in veteran Derrick Mason, and the always dependable Todd Heap, and you have a proven team-first receiving core.
Ray Lewis might be a little too much for Moss now that I think about it.
Pittsburgh Steelers
7 of 11
The Steelers aren't exactly stacked at wide receiver, but they don't need to be. They win with defense, running the ball, and the occasional spectacular play from Ben Roethlisberger.
Though it would be pretty funny to see the defense's faces after Ben runs around for fifteen seconds and throws it up to Moss in the end zone.
Still, not a good move for Pittsburgh.
New York Jets
8 of 11
The only reason this would be a bad move for the Jets is because it would inspire the coaching staff to let Mark Sanchez throw more than he already has this season.
The Jets are determined to show the world that Mark Sanchez was the right pick two years ago and it cost them on Sunday. Though it would be interesting to see Moss return to New England as a Jet, it better not happen, for the Jets' sake at least.
Washington Redskins
9 of 11
The Redskins could certainly use Moss' talents right now. Unfortunately, catching passes from Rex Grossman probably isn't his number one desire.
The Redskins are the league's worst 4-4 team and have struggled already this season with locker room riffs involving Albert Haynesworth and now Donovan McNabb's fourth quarter benching last week in Detroit.
Plus they already have a receiver named Moss.
New England Patriots
10 of 11
If this one doesn't make sense I'm not sure I can help you. New England traded Moss after a win over the Dolphins earlier this season and since then haven't lost a game.
They signed Deion Branch and Tom Brady has looked in sync with his targets for much of the season.
And no other team has shown they can win without superstars like the Patriots.
Teams That Should Look Into Moss
11 of 11
Just like there are teams that should avoid Moss at all costs, there are those that could use his services at the season's halfway point.
Here are 10 teams that should pursue Moss, in no specific order.
1) Denver Broncos
2) Buffalo Bills
3) Miami Dolphins
4) Chicago Bears
5) New York Giants
6) Kansas City Chiefs
7) San Diego Chargers
8) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
9) St. Louis Rams
10) Jacksonville Jaguars
