Sullivan contributed to the school's famous football program by filming the team's practices atop a hydraulic lift.
While filming at practice on Wednesday, 50-mile-per-hour winds swirled through the team's LaBar Practice Complex, and the lift collapsed. Sullivan fell to the ground, was rushed to South Bend's Memorial Hospital and died later that day.
The university is currently investigating what happened.

Roughly 90 minutes before he fell from the hydraulic lift, Sullivan posted a tweet that eerily foreshadowed his death.
At 3:22 p.m. Sullivan posted:
“Gust of wind up to 60mph well today will be fun at work… I guess I’ve lived long enough :-/.”
44 minutes later, he added:
“Holy f-ck holy f-ck this is terrifying.”
44 minutes after that, the tower collapsed.

According to an SI.com article, the state of Indiana will be investigating the conditions in which Sullivan was working.
A spokesman for the state's workplace safety agency says that they sent an investigator to the campus to view the scene where the accident happened. But they have not yet commented on the accident or whatever the results of their investigation might lead to.
Will the NCAA Investigate?

Although the university is investigating what happened, as is the state of Indiana, the NCAA might also look into the safety of people who film games and practices for college football teams.
New regulations and guidelines could (and perhaps should) be enacted as a result of Sullivan's tragic death.
