5-Star Running Back Aaron Green Commits To Nebraska Over Texas, FSU and Cal
5-star running back Aaron Green committed to Nebraska on Wednesday, becoming the highest-profile prospect in the Cornhuskers 2011 recruiting class.
Green chose the Nebraska over Texas, Florida State and Cal. The move comes as no surprise as Nebraska had been considered Green's favorite for months and Texas and Florida State each added 5-star talent at running back over the summer.
Once Malcolm Brown committed to Texas and James Wilder committed to FSU, the path was cleared for Green to head to Lincoln.
He's the first 5-star running back Nebraska has recruited since Marlon Lucky in 2005, but the expectations are even higher this time around.

“I picked it because I knew it would make me grow spiritually. I knew it would make me a better man," Green said.
Green is the complete package when it comes to running backs, he runs with purpose, can make the first man miss, gets downfield in a hurry and breaks tackles with amazing speed.
There might not be anyone in the country who can change direction quite as fast. Defenders are regularly left staring at the dust when he blows past them with a single move.
Green is undersized at 5'11", 185 lbs, though, so he'll need to bulk up to be as effective at the next level, but that's about the only complaint you'll find about him.
With Roy Helu Jr. finishing up this season there will be an opening at running back. If Green isn't called upon to fill it as a true freshman, he'll at least get his share of the pie.
Green will likely have the chance to be one of the top impact freshman in 2011.
With 4-star center Ryan Reeves, 4-star offensive tackle Tyler Moore and 4-star offensive guard Ryan Klachko joining him, the offensive line should be strong for years. Reeves, Moore and Klachko are all ranked in the top 10 at their position.
For Nebraska, the attention now turns to the defensive side of the ball and 4-star safety Wayne Lyons.
He lists the Cornhuskers, as well as UCLA, Michigan, Auburn, Stanford and Notre Dame as his favorites and there isn't a higher-rated prospect in the country considering joining Nebraska.
All in all, the Cornhuskers are now up to 15 commitments, with Green the only 5-star prospect among them.
Regardless of how things play out from here, Nebraska has to be thrilled with it's haul. There aren't many teams who've caught a bigger fish.
