Cleveland Browns: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Chris MahlOct 24, 2010

This won't be a very long article—I just want to point out a few things I have been noticing about the Cleveland teams out there.

The past three years the Browns have beaten the reigning Super Bowl champs. The Saints today, Pittsburgh last year and the Giants' embarrassing loss on Monday Night Football the year before. It seems as though the Browns and many other Cleveland teams play at the same level as the other team.

I have seen this with the Indians as well. They could play a team that has not won a game in 50 years (slight exaggeration), yet when that team lines up across from the Indians, their chance of pulling out a victory is pretty high. Yet, when the Browns play the best teams in the nation, they will stomp on them or make it a very good game.

It makes my brain hurt thinking about it but if the Browns can beat the reigning Super Bowl champs, why do they have trouble with the likes of the Bills and the Lions? Both teams that, if the Browns played as the Super Bowl stompers they are, should be easily beaten.

I am still very optimistic about the Browns this year. They seem to get better every week and this bye week should give them time to bandage up and rest. I am interested in the whole QB fiasco that will go on when all three QBs are healthy again.

But we beat the Saints today! Go Browns!
