Oklahoma Sooners Football: What the Waka Flocka Flame?
Umm...didn't see this coming at all. Not even close. As the college football day winded down, I left the Overlook bar in NYC feeling good. My Sooners won going away and Ohio State lost. Naturally, when the BCS comes I'm expecting:
- Oregon
- Boise State
- TCU
- Oklahoma
- Auburn
Wake up Sunday...don't go to church (haven't found a church home yet in NYC—if you know of a good Baptist or non-demominational church, let me know) and I take a look at the polls, the USA Today Coach's Poll (because that's the one that counts towards the BCS), and it reads:
- Oregon
- Boise State
- Oklahoma
- TCU
- Auburn
So I'm a little surprised Oklahoma jumped from six to three, but cool, no biggie.
Come 8:15 p.m. EST, all hell breaks loose for me. What the Waka Flocka Flame—OU is No. 1 in the BCS. Can't be, says who? The damned computers that's who.
Current BCS Rankings as of 10/17/10
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Boise State
- Auburn
- TCU
I don't hide my feelings for the Sooners—I effin' love em!
But I don't like this one bit man. Only in the 11 years of the BCS, only two, yup, two teams have gone wire-to-wire from the beginning BCS rankings to go on and win which were FSU in '99 and USC in '04.
There are seven weeks of football left to play and anything can happen. I hate OU having the bullseye on it's back so early. They still have to go through Missouri, Baylor and Oklahoma State.
Not to mention most likely a hungry Nebraska team for the Big 12 championship. So essentially, I'll probably die of a heart attack before this season is over watching an OU game.
That's all I got,
