Wayne Rooney: Top 5 Possible Destinations
Rooney Tunes continues today with the media slashing their hands at every possible corner attempting to gain the best possible coverage over the shocking revelation that Wayne Rooney had asked Sir Alex to leave Old Trafford.
Yesterday we previewed the top five replacements for Wayne, possibilities as it may be, as we have been so wrong so many times when it comes to Sir Alex and predicting which way he will go.
Well as we hope and wish all the best comes out from this saga, both for Rooney and the club.
Lets take a look at the possible clubs that could land Rooney.
Chelsea

The Blues have confirmed their interest in the striker when coach Carlo Anchelotti was asked regarding the issue, he was very quick to point out that Wayne has the quality and ability to attract any of the elite clubs in Europe and in the same manner Chelsea would be attracted by the proposition of having him in their squad.
With Wayne value set at around £45 Million, and with the millions available at Stanford Bridge Chelsea would be prepared to offer in excess of that figure in order to lure Rooney down south.
Linking up with the likes of Drogba, Lampard, Terry and many other world class players could be one of the many attracting at Chelsea.
Having won so much already at United and now to start a fresh a team that seems to have a similar winning mentality under former Milan coach Carlo Anchelotti, Rooney could just be tempted to a London move.
Barcelona

A move to Spain is always on the cards, with the recent hype in the La Liga and so many players coming in, Wayne Rooney could be next on the list.
Joining World class stars at the Nou Camp, the likes of Messi, Xavi and Villa could be a dream even for Wayne, whose played alongside some of the greats at Old Trafford in Giggs and Scholes.
He will however have to adapt to a new game, a different style and approach but been so young and ambitious, the challenge will only drive him to becoming a better player.
The question is, can Barcelona afford Wayne Rooney? it's as simple as that.
Big money moves for Ibra, Villa and Mascherano have meant Barcelona have spent alot in the last two season, with the massive loss from the Ibra deal, it has some what exaggerated the problem.
But when ask regarding a possible Rooney swoop, Pep was quoted saying:
"He is one of the greatest players in the world as there are very few players with his qualities," the Barcelona boss is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"He's a player I admire very much."
The same report suggest Barcelona are only prepared to pay £25 million should Rooney be available in January.
Manchester City

The deal every United fan would hate to see go through, another loved one cross over to the dark side. But with the potential and the money, City have the power to attract even their rivals across town.
Reports suggest Manchester United could be offered upto £100 million, which could be the biggest offer on the table.
But would United sell one of their top players to their biggest rivals?
Many would ask, would Rooney after his years spent at Old Trafford, looked after so well by Sir Alex and the Staff, make the decision to move to the Eastlands knowing the consequences and the backlash he would get from hundred of thousands of United faithfuls.
Personally, i highly doubt he would move to City, their isn't any real attraction besides the money, and for some reason I don't see Rooney as a person chasing money.
Inter Milan

Many if not all would say this is the most unlikely choice, a move to Italy for Wayne Rooney might just be on the cards.
Inter have won everything last season under Jose Mourinho, but with the squad getting older, new blood is required if the current European champions want to continue their reign for another couple years.
Under former Liverpool coach Benitez, he could look at Rooney as the key in rebuilding the squad as potentials to once again make a huge challenge for the title.
Inter have benefited from big money moves, Mario Balotelli to City, a pay out on Mourinho's contract by Madrid suggest they have some money to attract a big move.
The Italian league been the robust style, could be perfect for Wayne as he enjoys the physical side of the game.
Inter already have some World stars in their lineup, Julio Cesar and Maicon of Brazil along with the likes of Samuel Eto'o and Cambiasso.
Real Madrid

The most likely of choices for the English forward is to rejoin former team mate Cristiano Ronaldo and a host of other superstars at the Bernabeu.
Madrid under Jose Mourinho would welcome the quality of Rooney with open arms, and the attractions of playing alongside some of the best in the World, under a World Class manager at one of the most prestigious venues in World football could just make United sign for the Spanish Giants.
The other attraction been the money, as I mentioned Rooney doesn't seem like a gold digger but to earn a good salary at a club with a rich history and amazing potential to win silver wear, what more could you ask for.
With Madrid always looking to make the big moves, a massive transfer could also benefit United.
An interesting deal could be a possible swap deal, Karim Benzema and Lass Diara for Rooney could be on the cards, this would be more in United's favour than Madrid.
Diarra has been linked with United since last season, and both Benzema and Lass have failed to really make a huge impression under Mourinho.
Another deal that could get Fergie out of his comfort seat, is Kaka for Ronaldo and maybe throw in Benzema while they at it, this could be the best possible scenario and Ferguson would say yes immediately.
The biggest challenge for Madrid would be Manchester City, both clubs have immense wealth and have the potential to attract almost any player, at the end of the day it's up to the player to decide whether to go just for the money, or the money coupled with some history and success.
When asked whether Madrid would be interested in Rooney, Jose Mourinho emphasized the point the that he would stay at Old Trafford despite Fergie making it public that the striker had asked to leave.
"He probably wants to leave for some reasons, but I believe he belongs to Man Utd, he belongs to Man Utd fans, he belongs to Old Trafford.
"I believe he is going to stay
"But if at the end of day Man Utd decides that he is to leave, give me a call." Said Jose Mourinho.
He continued saying: "I think and I wish because I like him, I like Sir Alex, I like Man Utd I believe the best thing for him is to stay there for life."
