Ole Miss-Alabama Preview: Upset No. 2 for the Crimson Tide?
Last week South Carolina upset No.1 Alabama coming off a bye-week. The Rebels are coming off a bye this week as well.
Will this help them ride into Tuscaloosa with a win against 'Bama?
Here are 'Bama's stats for last week's game:
Passing: Comp-Att 27-35
Rushing: M. Ingram 41 yards/T. Richardson 23 yards
Alabama had only 36 rushing yards for the game because McElroy posted minus-28.
Alabama's defense let Garcia complete 17 of his 20 passes. Alabama allowed Lattimore to run for 93 yards on the ground, in an effort totaling 110 yards running and 201 pass yards. Looks like 'Bama was making sandwiches on defense the whole game.
Here are the Rebels' stats for their last game vs. Kentucky:
Passing: J. Masoli 9/17 90 yards 3 TD
Rushing: B. Bolden 108 yards 1 TD/ J. Masoli 43 yards 1 TD/ J. Scott 26 yards/ J. Grandy 24 yards/ R. Scott 14 yards 1 TD
The receiving was horrible. Markeith Summers had only one reception for seven yards. He will need to touch the ball at least seven times for about 80 yards to give the Rebels a good chance against the Crimson Tide. Bolden needs another 100-yard game to lead the Rebels to a victory.
Masoli must avoid throwing interceptions and complete more than 70 percent of his passes. Also, the defense has to step up and create turnovers like we saw in the Kentucky game.
My prediction may not align with yours, but I always have a positive score prediction. 21-13, Rebels knock off the Tide—GO REBELS!
