College Football Upset Picks: Five Underdogs That Can Win In Week Seven
College football is a great sport and one of the reasons that fans are so passionate about the sport is because any team can pull of the big upset win and shock the country.
Last week the college football landscape was covered with upsets that drastically changed the rankings. This week there are a few teams that could pull off major upsets once again.
Week seven is full of great games and possible upsets and here are five underdogs that may bite.
Louisville Cardinals Over Cincinnati Bearcats
1 of 5
In this Friday night Big East battle there is a good chance that the home team can get the “W”.
Online sportsbook BetMania has made the Bearcats slim 2.5 point road favorites over Louisville.
Louisville has put together two very good games leading into this contest and they have renege in mind after getting beat down last year by a score of 41-10.
The Bearcats are not the same team they were a year ago and they are 0-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last four road games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Cardinals are 23-10 ATS in their last 33 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game and are ready to pull off the upset.
Kentucky Over South Carolina
2 of 5
Online sportsbook BetMania have posted the latest college football odds and South Carolina is a six point favorite over Kentucky.
South Carolina just pulled off one of the biggest upsets in school history. With that being said there is going to be some letdown for the game this week. If they are not careful they will get a taste of their own medicine when they go up against the Wildcats this weekend. The Wildcats proved that they could play with the best teams in the SEC when they barely lost to the Auburn Tigers.
The Wildcats are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a winning road record and the Gamecocks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win.
Kentucky has an explosive offense that can score against anyone in the country and they have a legitimate chance of pulling off this upset.
Wisconsin Badgers Over Ohio St Buckeyes
3 of 5
After a loss by Alabama, Ohio St was promoted in the polls and possesses the No. 1 ranking in the country. That ranking gets a test this weekend when the Buckeyes travel to Wisconsin to take on the 5-1 and 16th ranked Badgers.
The online sportsbooks such as BetMania posted the opening college football odds for this weekend and they have Ohio St as 4.5 point favorites.
The Badgers are a tough team at home and have a bruising style that can wear down any team. Wisconsin will host the Buckeyes in a night game which is good news since they are 25-3 in the last 28 night games. The underdog is 7-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 meetings, which is an indication that this game will be close.
If the Badgers can get John Clay moving on the ground and avoid turnovers they have a shot of pulling off the upset.
Michigan Over Iowa
4 of 5
Online sportsbook BetMania have posted the latest college football odds and Iowa is a 4.5 point favorite over Michigan.
Michigan dropped a tough game to the Spartans, getting their first loss of the season. Quarterback Denard Robinson was kept relatively quiet and will look to have a big game against Iowa to redeem himself. “That’s out the window,” Robinson said Saturday about 15 minutes after the game. “We have to get ready for Iowa.”
Iowa has lost the only road game they have played this season and will be on upset alert when they take on the Wolverines.
The underdog is 8-1 ATS in their last nine meetings and will bite again this weekend in the Big House.
Texas Over Nebraska
5 of 5
Online sportsbook BetMania have posted the latest college football odds and Nebraska is a 9.5 point favorite over Texas.
This may seem like a stretch to most, after all Nebraska has looked dominant all year and they have raced to the top of the national rankings. They have revenge heading into this game, and they are at home, so how could they possibly lose?
The problem is Texas knows how to prepare for Nebraska and they have a speedy and athletic defense that matches up well against the offense of the Cornhuskers. The other main fact is that after falling out of the top 25, Texas has nothing to lose and this victory could be the only thing that revives the season.
The Cornhuskers are 0-5-1 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite and Longhorns are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as an underdog. It might be a long-shot but the Longhorns have a chance to pull off the impossible.
