The NFL's Biggest Shocks, Surprises and Disappointments of the 2010 Season
The NFL is five weeks into it's season, and already there are plenty of story lines that surprise most people.
While bottom feeders of 2009 are rising to the top, Super Bowl contenders are also struggling and not playing as well as hoped.
Here are ten surprises, shocks, and disappointments I have taken from the first five weeks of the season.

There Are No More Undefeated Teams Five Weeks Into The Season
1 of 10
The NFL is five weeks into the season, and the 1972 Dolphins can start the celebration of seeing no more undefeated teams left in the league.
The Kansas City Chiefs were the last undefeated team, before losing to the Colts yesterday.
Though there is some disappointment as it is always exciting to see an undefeated, it is clear that parity in the NFL is at it's highest point this season.
Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are Leading Their Divisions
2 of 10
Every NFL season always has the surprise teams that go from worst to first. This year, we have the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers doing just that.
The new coaching staff has led these young Chiefs to a 3-1 record. The running game and pressure defense of the Chiefs gives the fans hope of being a contender in the AFC.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the other hand, have surprisingly led a division that contains playoff hopefuls Atlanta and defending champion New Orleans.
Josh Freeman is developing into a talent the Bucs hoped for when taking him in the first round of the draft.
The San Francisco 49ers Begin The Year 0-5
3 of 10
Who would have thought that the San Francisco 49ers would begin their season 0-5? Not me, nor anyone else who picked them to win the NFC West.
The offense is not firing on all cylinders, and the defense is vulnerable against the pass defense, which is resulting in sloppy football.
The president of the 49ers still has hope, but the team needs to start translating it into wins before it is to late.
The Chicago Bears Are Playing Like The Super Bowl Runner Up Of a Few Years Ago
4 of 10
The Chicago Bears are returning to the form of a Super Bowl caliber team they were a few years ago.
Led by Julius Peppers, the defense is playing lights out right now and is winning the ball games for Chicago.
A great example is yesterday's win over the Panthers. Back up Todd Collins threw four interceptions, yet the defense of the Bears continued to be dominant.
They are setting themselves up for a division title, especially with the struggles Green Bay and Minnesota are dealing with.
Michael Vick Was Arguably The Leagues Best Player, Before His Injury
5 of 10
Before his injury sustained last week, Michael Vick was making a case for an MVP season early on.
Not only is he as fast like his days in Atlanta, but Vick's ability to stay in the pocket and find his talented receivers made Philly fans forget about Donovan McNabb.
Though Kevin Kolb had a decent game last night, when Vick is ready to return, he should be the starter and lead this team back to the post season.
The Cincinnati Bengals Look Like Anything But Defending Champs
6 of 10
The Cincinnati Bengals are playing uninspired and sloppy football right now.
Half the blame goes to Carson Palmer, who is on pace for 19 interceptions this season. The offense has been focused around Terrell Owens, while Chad Ochocinco has been not existent thus far.
More importantly, the top defense of the Bengals continues to blow leads, and they have yet to face some of the top quarterbacks on their schedule.
Marvin Lewis is losing control of his team, one that is undisciplined and is costing them early games early on in the season.
Back to back losses to the lowly Browns and the young Bucs isn't a good sign for this team.
The Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings Among NFC Contenders Off To Slow Starts
7 of 10
Arguably the NFC's two biggest contenders are the biggest disappointments, leaving the conference wide opened.
The Dallas Cowboys fell to 1-3 yesterday, after stupid penalties and inability to play defense gave the Tennessee Titans the win.
Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings are at 1-2, but have looked anything but the NFC runner up from last year.
Can they go into the new Jets stadium and pull off a win? I am not so sure about that.
The Indianapolis Colts Are Not The Clear Cut Favorite In The AFC South
8 of 10
Surprisingly, the Indianapolis Colts are not in front of the AFC South. Right now, it's all four way tie for first place, with every team fighting for the division crown.
The Jaguars and Titans have good running games with a decent passing game, and the Houston Texans are bringing a balanced attack that makes them a force to be reckon with.
Peyton Manning and the Colts are already 0-2 in the division, and have yet to face Chris Johnson and the Titans.
Will we see a new division winner representing the AFC South?
After Week Five, The Two Best Teams Might Well Be In The AFC North
9 of 10
Five weeks into the NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers are the teams to beat in the entire league.
The Ravens are now 4-1 after their win over the Denver Broncos. Ray Rice is near 100%, and he brought back his exciting play making skills with 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Joe Flacco and his new set of offensive weapons continue to make strides. The defense is still one of the best in the league, with the secondary playing much better than expected. With Ed Reed returning in two weeks, the already talented Ravens roster only gets better.
The Pittsburgh Steelers might have lost to the Baltimore Ravens in Pittsburgh, but are still one of the top teams in the league. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger returns to an offense that should be very balanced now with him returning.
And who can forget about the Steelers defense? Arguably the best in the league today, the Steelers defense shouldn't be on the field as long now with the offense mustering more points.
Randy Moss Is Traded From The Patriots to The Vikings
10 of 10
The biggest surprise of the 2010 season is Randy Moss being traded from the Patriots, to his former team in the Minnesota Vikings.
The slow start for Minnesota prompted the front office to get Brett Favre a number one target while Sidney Rice is out.
Time will tell if this move makes the Vikings the team to beat in the NFC.
