College Football Predictions: Picks Against the Spread for Every Game in the SEC
The SEC is arguably the best conference in all of college football, and every week they seem to have a great game that highlights the schedule.
This week is no exception as the SEC has plenty of games that will be worthy of watching on Saturday.
Here is a breakdown of all the games in the SEC with predictions against the spread with final scores.
E Michigan at Vanderbilt
1 of 7
7:00 PM, SPNU
Latest Line at BetMania: Vanderbilt -25
Vanderbilt is just one of two teams to play out of conference this week, and they will be eager to erase the humbling defeat to the Connecticut Huskies.
Vanderbilt is a good team on the rise and has talent at the quarterback position with Larry Smith. Eastern Michigan has yet to win a game, and they won’t pull off this upset, but if you’re going to bet on the game take the points.
Eastern Michigan +25
Final: Vanderbilt 30, Eastern Michigan 10
Mississippi St at Houston
2 of 7
8:00 PM, CBS
Latest Line at BetMania: Mississippi St -5
Mississippi St will travel out of conference to go up against the Houston Cougars. Houston is still a very talented team, although they lost the services of Heisman-caliber quarterback Case Keenum. Mississippi St will have problem getting up for this out of conference game and will be one of the upsets this weekend in the SEC.
The Bulldogs are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games as a favorite and the Cougars are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Houston +5
Final: Houston 31, Mississippi St 28
Tennessee at Georgia
3 of 7
12:21 PM, SEC Network, ESPN3.com
Latest Line at BetMania: Georgia -10
Georgia is having one of the worst seasons in recent history and is off an embarrassing loss to Colorado. Tennessee is off a heartbreaking loss to LSU, but they are showing positive signs as they grow as a team.
I have to admit I was a bit surprised when I saw the Bulldogs were double-digit favorites in this game, but it’s for a good reason. Georgia is under the microscope right now, and they are in desperate need of a win. Quarterback Aaron Murray will have a field day against a Vols defense that struggles against the pass.
The Volunteers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as an underdog and will be flat after the tough loss in Baton Rouge.
Georgia -10
Final: Georgia 37, Tennessee 17
Arkansas at Texas A&M
4 of 7
3:30 PM, ABC, ESPN3.com
Latest Line at BetMania: Arkansas -8.5
Arkansas had a bye week after a difficult loss to Alabama and will be ready to get back on the field. They have to make sure that they are focused on this out of conference game when they take on Jerrod Johnson and the Aggies of Texas A&M.
Out-of-conference games can be a killer in the SEC. The Razorbacks have had two weeks to prepare, but will still need to shake off a hangover if they hope to beat a team looking for revenge in Dallas Stadium. The Razorbacks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games. The Hogs pull it out, but it will be close.
Texas A&M +8.5
Final: Arkansas 31, Texas A&M 27
Auburn at Kentucky
5 of 7
7:30 PM, ESPN2, ESPN3.com
Latest Line at BetMania: Auburn -6.5
Head coach Joker Phillips has the Wildcats playing competitive ball, but they will get a huge challenge this week when they face quarterback Cameron Newton and the Auburn Tigers. This is a tough spot for the Tigers because they have to be focused on this game although they have two ranked opponents on deck.
It might surprise a few folks to realize that Kentucky has the No. 2 rated passing offense in the SEC, behind Arkansas. That is bad news for Auburn as they rank 11th in pass defense in the conference.
The Tigers are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0. The Wildcats are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games against a team with a winning road record and get the biggest upset of the week in the SEC.
Kentucky +6.5
Final: Kentucky 27 Auburn 24
Alabama at South Carolina
6 of 7
3:30 PM, CBS, CBSSports.com
Latest Line at BetMania: Alabama -7
This is the best game on the schedule for the SEC this weekend. Alabama has the tough task of playing three tough games in a row after big wins against Arkansas and Florida. The problem for Alabama is that every team saves their best game for the No. 1 team in the country.
Last year Ingram rushed for 246 yards against South Carolina to get the win. This is a different South Carolina team from a year ago. Steve Spurrier loves the bye week as his teams are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games following a bye week. I don’t see the Gamecocks pulling off the upset, but it will be much closer than the experts think.
South Carolina +7
Final: Alabama 23, South Carolina 20
LSU at Florida
7 of 7
7:30 PM, ESPN, ESPN3.com
Latest Line at BetMania: Florida -6.5
Florida wants to forget the game last week against Alabama. They were beaten up in every area of the game, and in order to put it behind them they will have to beat LSU at home. LSU is undefeated on the season but is playing very ugly and inconsistent ball right now.
The Gators are looking show they country they are still legitimate after the bad loss to Alabama. The Gators are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games as a favorite, 23-7 ATS versus a team with a winning record, and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games as a home favorite of 3.5-10.0. LSU’s weak offense will be exposed, and Florida dominates at home.
Florida -6.5
Final: Florida 34, LSU 13
