College Football: Week 6 Pac-10 Football Pick 'Em

Joe PenkalaOct 7, 2010

Here are my Week 6 Pac-10 picks. I am 8-2 straight-up and 5-5 against the spread so far.

This week brings us five Pac-10 matchups and the conference championship race is sure to start taking shape now.

Last week, Oregon stormed back from a 21-3 deficit and beat Stanford, 52-31. Oregon will be looking to not let up this week against Washington State, and Stanford has to put the loss behind it and focus on USC.

Enough said, time for some picks.

UCLA @ California

Cal had last week off and a long time to think about their one-point loss to Arizona. While being inconsistent this year is a problem, Cal is at home and looking to get back to .500 in the Pac-10.

UCLA has seemed to really turn itself around and the win at Austin still has people talking. While they struggled a bit with Washington State last week, UCLA still has the potential to beat anyone in the Pac-10.

While UCLA has been impressive, I think Cal takes advantage of the week off and wins. I am also willing to give the seven points and still take Cal.

Oregon State @ Arizona

Oregon State heads on the road for a big matchup against Arizona. This will be a big game as far as the conference race is concerned.

Oregon State will try to lean on the run and rely on the smart decision making of Ryan Katz. On the other hand, Arizona will look for Nick Foles to air out the ball and lead the offense.

If you're picking straight up take Arizona, but I will take the 8.5 points and Oregon State.

Oregon @ Washington State

This one may be the easiest of the Pac-10 games to pick. Oregon is coming off a huge win at home against Stanford and some people could be tempted to put them on upset alert. Not this team, not this  year.

Oregon takes its No. 1 ranked offense to Washington State and will keep on rolling. Between the running ability of LaMichael James and Kenjon Barner and the throwing skills of Darron Thomas, the Cougars will not be able to stop this offense.

Take Oregon and give the 34.5 points.

USC @ Stanford

Remember this game last year? Stanford headed down to the L.A. Coliseum and laid the wood to USC. The Cardinal were up 27 points and even went for a two-point conversion.

While the idea that USC is out for revenge is true, they just don't have the depth to stay up with Stanford. Andrew Luck will be able to air it out and have a huge day.

Take Stanford and give the eight points.

Arizona State @ Washington

After a huge win on the road, Washington heads home to take on Arizona State. Expect to see a ton of points in this game as both offenses have the ability to air it out.

The only thing to watch out for is an emotional letdown for Washington, which is coming off a win against USC and may cause the Huskies to have a slow start.

It will be close, but take Washington and give the 1.5 points.
