Miami Dolphins QB Controversy: Should Chad Henne Be Benched for Pennington?
I'm no QB and have never played football competitively, but as a spectator on the sidelines I've noticed a certain something in quarterbacks countless times.
Some QB's have it, this presence on the field imbued with natural leadership. It spreads throughout the team, resonating positive energy, motivation, and confidence.
Some QB's don't.

Chad Henne doesn't have it, and it shows. His lack of confidence in himself is visible in his body language.
Conversely, Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts is a prime example of one who possesses this positive energy. He has this drive to him, a desire to win and succeed, which shows in his actions, his expressions, and his body language.
It makes his teammates work harder and strive to succeed because they believe in him. They believe Manning can do it.
Henne doesn't have this energy to him, and it's not necessarily something you can coach. Not only does this effect Henne's personal performance on the football field, I would argue it also effects his teammates'.
The quarterback of a football team is just as much an emotional leader as he is a physical one. He is the guy you trust to hold the football on each snap and distribute the football offensively on nearly every down.
Now I'm not saying Henne is hopeless—I believe there is potential for greatness in every one of us—but it's just not yet his time to shine.
Miami needs leadership at QB right now, and Chad Pennington is just the guy for the job.
Chad Pennington is the listed backup for Miami. He has experience. He has leadership qualities. He has accuracy and a winning record.
Most importantly, Chad Pennington has this positive energy I speak of, the "it" factor.
Pennington is still a player in the National Football League, but I feel the Dolphins have been treating him more like a backup quarterback coach than a backup player.
Put Pennington in while he is still a football player. Let the coaches coach and the players play.
Coaching is something players do after they retire.
