BCS National Championship: Possible Scenarios That Could Play Out

This is not a hate article. My aim here is to be as realistic as possible. Who would the fans like to see go to the National Championship in Glendale, Arizona this season? I have came up with a few scenarios. Please hear me out.

Scenario 1: Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma, or Nebraska vs. Boise State

I know a lot of Boise State fans would love to see this matchup. I'll tell you why neither Alabama nor Ohio St. want to see their teams face Boise State in Glendale. It's simply a lose-lose situation. If Alabama or Ohio St. beat Boise St. for the national title, you would here a lot of discredit placed on either of these two BCS teams.

Many fans would say things like, "If it wasn't Boise State, it would have turned out very differently." Nobody enjoys these kinds of remarks to a game.

If Boise St. pulls off the impossible and wins, people would say, "Alabama was overrated," or "Ohio State choked again."

These comments would also be said from the other teams. But this is completely hypothetical.

Scenario 2: Alabama vs. Ohio State

Fans would enjoy this game. Both teams would be very deserving if they were undefeated, which it what it will take for Alabama and OSU to make it at this point. This would be the best matchup of the entire season if these two teams make it that far. This is completely hypothetical, and my favorite scenario.

Scenario 3: Auburn vs. Boise State

That is not a typo, I really said Auburn. Let's say Auburn wins out against Alabama and plays a one-loss Florida on December 4 and wins. It would take Ohio State losing a game, and Auburn beating an undefeated No. 1 Alabama. This would likely place them at No. 2.

If Boise State remains perfect and overtakes Oregon, there is no reason this wouldn't happen. This would be totally unexpected, but not impossible.  There are big pluses for each of these teams for winning this completely hypothetical matchup. You wouldn't hear the same comments described in Scenario 1.

Scenario 4: Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma, or Nebraska vs. Auburn

These would be great matchups, but I'll leave these for you to contemplate.

These are completely hypothetical scenarios, and not meant to bash Boise State or meant as predictions. It is my belief that if Boise State makes it to the Big One, I would personally like to see Auburn as its opponent, even though I'm a Bama fan. The Big Ten fans would grow to appreciate the third scenario, whether they admit it or not.
