Buffalo Bills: What to Do in the Offseason
I don't like to call a season over after only four weeks, but with the latest embarrassing loss for the Buffalo Bills I think it's safe to say, it's over.
The defense was absolutely nonexistent yesterday and, with the exception of the Patriot's game, the offense hasn't really shown up this season.
So for the Bills I'm already looking towards the offseason and what they can do to start getting better.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Right now there are four teams at 0-4, Buffalo, Detroit, San Francisco, and Carolina.
Between those teams, Buffalo and Carolina will be battling it out for the No. 1 pick in the draft.
Even though I didn't believe Don Banks of SI.com when he wrote it, honestly the Bills could go 0-16 this season.
Their are only a select few games they have a chance of winning. Next week they matchup against Jacksonville, though after their impressive win against the Colts that could be a stretch, and their Week 10 matchup when the Lions come to town, but I can see the Lions winning six games this year. In Week 14 the Browns visit, which could be a win for Buffalo, and then Week 17 at the Jets could be a mercy-win as the Jets might be resting starters.
So assuming there is no miracle turnaround, what should the Bills do with the No. 1 or No. 2 pick in the draft?
I'm sure a lot of people will be screaming for them to take a quarterback, which wouldn't be a bad choice, but what the Bills need more than anything are offensive and defensive linemen.
If I'm the Bills sitting that high in the draft, I look to trade back and grab as many picks (or players) as I can.
The Bills have some skilled players on offense with Parish and Evans at wideout, and probably have the most loaded backfield in football. The problem is the offensive line doesn't give the quarterback anytime to throw and there are few holes for the running backs to run through.
On the other side of the ball the defensive line isn't getting much pressure and they're getting run through like they're Swiss cheese.
The Bills have a ton of holes in their lineup and the quarterback position isn't their biggest concern right now.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is no Jim Kelly, or even Frank Reich or Doug Flutie, but I think with protection and a running game he can lead the team to a wild-card spot.
The Bills truly need to rebuild, and taking running backs in the first round isn't going to cut it. If they want to get an early start on rebuilding they should trade Marshawn Lynch for the highest pick they can get or a decent offensive lineman.
I'm sorry to say this Bills fan, but it looks like the team is a good 3-4 years away from the playoffs. The front office needs to realize this, maybe model after the Patriots front office, and start building through the draft and trading out of high spots to get more picks and start picking the blue-collar positions.
It's not sexy but it will get them to the Promised Land a lot sooner.
Those Super Bowl runs were built through the painstakingly long '80s, and though they never translated to a championship the team dominated the AFC.
Now is the time for Buffalo to do it again. Blow up this team, keep some of your skilled players, but get better on both lines anyway you can then start plugging holes. In the end the city could get the Super Bowl that has eluded them for so long.
