Bama Bangin': Top 25 Thoughts
Here are My Week 5 Rankings.
1. Alabama The Florida game was over by half-time. That's how far ahead of the SEC this team is.
2. Ohio State Awful at Illinois, but a win's a win, and they are still the team to beat in the Big 10.
3. Oregon Superb comeback at Autzen against No.9 Stanford must make them want to play every game at home.
4. Boise State Another day, another 50-point victory.
5. TCU Beat Colorado State comfortably. This is the sound of no hands clapping for that one.
6. Nebraska Taylor Martinez proves that Big Red and Big Bo prove to be Big Noise. Texas next at Lincoln.
7. Oklahoma Beating your biggest rival provides satisfaction for the Sooners, but they still aren't great.
8. Auburn Smoked ULM at home. Could be the second-best team in the SEC.
9. LSU It's a wonder Les Miles hasn't been found guilty for Misery To Tigers fans. The man's a joke. Even IF the Tigers won
10. Utah Utes the third best non-conference team out there. Non-BCS, baby!
11. Arizona Suddenly, the get-together with Oregon on November 26 becomes must-see viewing.
12. Miami Jacory Harris might not have been good, but Havercroft was great at Clemson on Sunday.
13. Stanford Andrew Luck's a good QB, but there's nothing his D could do against the Ducks
14. Florida Woeful performance at Alabama proves the weakness of the SEC East above anything else, really.
15. Arkansas The road trip to Texas A&M will prove to us how good Ryan Mallett is without a home crowd behind him.
16. Michigan Again a horrible defensive performance against Indiana, but Denard Robinson will take this program a long way. Sadly.
17. Iowa Beat Penn State using great defense. It helped that PSU's D-line helped to make Ricky Stanzi look like Joe Montana at times
18. South Carolina Marcus Lattimore's the man. Stephen Garcia will get work against Alabama, and we expect bad things...
19. Michigan State Suddenly the usual Big Ten also-rans are dark horses for the title after upset of Wisconsin. Thoughts go out to Mark Dantonio.
20. West Virginia The class of the Big East. Which isn't saying much.
21. Oregon State Win over Cal propels them back into the Top 25. The Pac-10's good this year, if you hadn't noticed.
22. Florida State Christian Ponder's the best QB in the ACC. Pity the 'Noles defense isn't!
23. Nevada Colin Kapernick keeps the Wolfpack, er, howling.
24. Texas New Offensive co-ordinator needed at the University of Austin
25. Missouri Second best in the Big XII North by a mile.
