College Football: Week 5 Pac-10 Football Pick 'Em
Pac-10 conference play is in full swing this week, as there are four Pac-10 matchups to cover this week.
Last week, the Pac had a very successful week as UCLA took down Texas, Stanford beat Notre Dame, and Oregon beat ASU.
Last week, I went 5-1 in my straight up picks and 3-3 against the spread.
Let's get to the picks.
Washington State at UCLA
1 of 5
This matchup features two teams going in completely different directions.
Last week, UCLA shocked the nation by going into Austin and beating up on the Longhorns.
On the other hand, Washington State did what most people expected when they got blown out by USC.
Take UCLA and lay the 27 points.
Arizona State at Oregon State
2 of 5
While Oregon State may have not been able to pull out a win at Boise State, they represented the Pac-10 well and kept the game interesting.
This week, the Beavers welcome an up-and-coming Arizona State team.
Last week, ASU played Oregon tight but could not overcome the seven turnovers they had on offense. Based on what I saw last week from ASU, I would love to pick the upset.
While I would love to, Oregon State is tough to beat at home in conference play. With that said, take Oregon State and give the 3.5 points.
Washington at USC
3 of 5
Last year, Jake Locker and Washington started the downward spiral of the USC Trojans. This year, the matchup has a very different feel to it.
Coming into the year, Washington was receiving a lot of national attention, and Locker was on a lot of Heisman short lists. After starting 1-2 this year, they look to earn a big conference road win.
On the other side of the ball, USC might be one of the more underwhelming 4-0 teams in the nation. While they have gotten the wins, many see it as only a matter of time before they start to pick up some losses.
With USC being favored by 10, take Washington and the points, but if you are picking straight up, stick with USC.
Stanford at Oregon
4 of 5
In not only the Pac-10 game of the week but maybe the national game of the week, ESPN's GameDay travels to Autzen Stadium to see Stanford play Oregon.
Both teams enter this game 4-0, and Stanford is coming off an impressive victory on the road over Notre Dame.
Andrew Luck continues to impress week in and week out and will need a big game at Autzen Stadium. If the Cardinal can get the running game going, it could be a long day for the Oregon defense.
Oregon enters this game averaging 57 points per game and putting up video game numbers. Last week against ASU, Oregon struggled with their pass protection and saw their offense slow down a bit.
In this game, Oregon is giving eight points, and while the Autzen crowd is always worth a few points in my book, I feel this will be a close game that could go down to whoever has the ball last.
If you're picking straight up, take Oregon, but take the points and Stanford when playing the spread.
