Boise State Broncos Vs. Alabama Crimson Tide And Other BCS Bowl Predictions
With college football just four weeks in, it's way too early to start speculating about bowl games.
But with teams like Michigan and Stanford already thrusting themselves onto the national scene, and teams like Texas, Notre Dame, and Iowa suffering early losses, I'll go ahead and do it away.
So, starting with the Rose Bowl, some familiar foes meet in Pasadena...
Rose Bowl: Oregon Vs. Ohio State
1 of 5
How they get there: Oregon rolls past Stanford this week, but is upset by USC later in the season in LA. Oregon is good enough to go undefeated, but with the depth in the Pac-10, I predict the Ducks suffer one defeat.
Ohio State also fails to go undefeated, suffering a season-ending loss to the upstart Wolverines, but the Buckeyes still win the Big Ten.
Prediction: Oregon avenges last year's defeat, 34-24
Fiesta Bowl: Nebraska Vs. Wisconsin
2 of 5
How they get there: Nebraska suffers an upset loss to Oklahoma St., but still does enough to win the Big 12 at one loss, and takes out Texas in the championship game.
Wisconsin loses against Ohio State, but narrowly edges Michigan for second place in the Big Ten with a huge victory in Ann Arbor, garnering the Big 10's second BCS bid.
Prediction: Nebraska dominates, 37-10
Orange Bowl: TCU Vs. Miami
3 of 5
How they get there: Miami wins the deflated ACC, despite not deserving a BCS bid.
TCU runs the table, despite a close call along the way.
Prediction: TCU proves nothing for the non-BCS schools, beating a decent Miami team, 37-21.
Sugar Bowl: Florida Vs. Stanford
4 of 5
How they get there: Stanford loses only to Oregon, coming in second in a very deep Pac-10.
Florida suffers a blowout loss to Alabama, but still does enough to earn a BCS bid.
Prediction: Stanford: 28-27
BCS Championship: Boise State Vs. Alabama
5 of 5
In a shocking matchup, Boise St. finally makes the leap to the National championship, facing off against another undefeated squad in Alabama.
How they get there: The Broncos run the table with ease, and Ohio State and Oregon's losses pave the path for them to make the title game.
Alabama also runs the table with ease, not facing any serious tests in conference play, not even against LSU or Florida.
Prediction: Alabama is just too good for Boise St., winning 24-17, in a close game.
